Two weeks ago we had Flynn castrated which went very well and his is fine now.  On Sunday we were down by the river and he started howling in pain.  I wasn't sure if something had bitten him or what but to cut a long story short he has a grass seed in his ear and is having it removed under sedation today.  He has been to the vet three times this week already as on Tuesday we went to see what it was but he was in so much pain that they could not see. They gave him some antibiotics and an anti inflammatory.  They also emptied his anal glands which he did not like.  Yesterday we went back and they told us it was a grass seed and today he is having in removed (thank god for insurance).

The thing is I think he must be some sort of masochist as he seems to love going back and is so happy to see everyone.LOL

Can't wait to get him back though the house is so quiet without him even with the parrot, two cats and two guinea pigs.

Thanks everyone.  It is silly but I can't settle today at all.  I really miss him.  I should be getting loads done but I am not.

My friends dog had a grass seed that ended up nearly by his shoulder.!!!!!

You'll not feel better until Flynn is back in your loving arms I'm sure so stuff the housework :P

Grass seeds may be tiny but boy can they cause huge trouble :(   Give him a gentle hug from me when he's home and tell him what a brave boy he's been - then of course we'll want an update!

hugs 'n stuff, Teri x

Have just collected Flynn after his incident with a grass seed.  Apparently it was quite nasty as it nearly ruptured the tympanic membrane.  He is still so sleepy after his sedative that I had to carry him in from the car. Luckily he is only a Cavalier LOL.  Another £115 thank god for insurance.

He is the 4th dog in today with problems with grass seeds.  Two Westies and one springer.

So pleased he is home.  I am off for a cuddle

Glad he's home with you. It's just not right when they're not there is it? Gentle hugs for your little trooper and his mum.
