I love little words of wisdom, and just jogged my memory, as Huskygal had written on another thread.....Life is short, but the road can be long, and its better in good company.
Thought that was lovely, another one I like is....... A smile is a curved line, that straightens everything out.
Anyone else get anymore?
One of my mum's favourite sayings is Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday....and all is well.

Never put off till tomorrow what can be done today :)
Missie, I think that should be amended to 'never put off till tomorrow what must be done today'. I use procrastination as a 'life-management' tool - and it's amazing how much that seemed urgent (especially to other people) never needs doing at all!

Mutts, how about 'what should of been done today' ? :P :P

If you cant be good be careful...
If you cant be careful, buy a pram!!

I quite like the acerbic wit of Oscar Wilde
"some cause happiness where ever they go......others cause happiness
when ever they go" ;)

This is my pick me up,i love it,its from part of a prayer from a wicca book, its kind of a mother nature thing,
I demand no sacrifice,
For I am the mother of all living,
And I pour my love, upon the earth.

My fave is
The past is a foreign country.......they do things differently over there ;)

The objective of all dedicated women should be to thoroughly analyze all situations, anticipate all problems prior to their occurence, have answers for these problems, and move swiftly to solve these problems when called upon....HOWEVER... When you are up to your a**se in alligators, it is difficult to remind yourself your initial objective was to drain the swamp!
Margot
I recall Princess Diana coming out with a lovely quote during one of her speeches,,,,,,,,, and for the life of me I can't remember it completely, but it goes along these lines
Life is often toil and trouble
but two things stand alone
*************
********trouble
and courage in your own
any ideas anyone??

"In this life of froth and bubble
Two things stand alone
Kindness in another's trouble
Courage in one's own"
I think that's the one you mean, Libs

Don't know who said it but I like.....for all those workaholics............
'Nobody, on their deathbed, said - I wish I'd spent more time at the office'.

I like, "God put me on this Earth to accomplish a number of tasks. To date, I'm so far behind I'll live forever....".

I like that one minny :)

My fave is one that I've quoted to my teens a few times. You know when kids talk as if they know everything and you, the parent, know nothing "I'm not young enough to know everything"
Oscar Wilde.

"You live and learn, then die and lose it all"
Jimmy Carr
I heard a good one the other day when Henman was getting tonked "It's getting late early"
John McEnroe :D :D

I like "lifes too short to drink Bad wine" :D Makes me smile

Please, God, give me patience..........
But do it quickly! :-D

ooh I love all of these!
I've got a few pages of them on email if anyone wants to PM me for them (I won't post them here - some are a bit risque and there are loads too)
My favourite one has to be - Never judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes. That way, you will be a mile away, and have his shoes!
By the way, most of them are jokey, but there are some sensible ones too. :)

Slow to chide and swift to bless
Many a mickle makes a muckle
When things aren't going well I remember something I once read on an office calender -
To be a good sailor, you have to have weathered a few storms
I must be a world class sailor in that case.... lol!
Its nice to be important but much more important to be nice.
This one is pinched from my dog showing mate
A little deaf a little blind life will always treat you kind.
also
the best way to learn is to keep your ears open and your mouth closed,
People should be judged by what they do and not by who they are.
Talking of office calendars, my OH's boss had one with a different saying for each day and our outright favourite was, "You can't carve rotten wood".
True, oh so true....
My gran always used to say "worse things happen at sea"
and "that which doesn't kill you only makes you stronger
and my mum always says "these things are sent to try us" admittedly this was usually said under her breath after i'd done something ridiculous! ;-)
