I was going to buy a new people carrier this week BUT have decided I may buy a little ( BUT NICE) van for the dogs only. Putting a trolley and boxes etc in and out the People carrier is a nightmare and I am always trying to make sure nothing gets marked. Least with a dog mobile.
I have had a nosey mostly on-line rather than in the flesh at the Belingo, Kangoo, Dioblo etc I would want one with a side door also.
Anyone have personal preference and experience of them? boot space? quality over each other. I am not going to buy one brand new but up to 2 years old , no older. :-)
I know Christine W has the Diablo and I was in the with her. It seemed to have plenty of space.

I have the Doblo MPV too....great car with bags of space. Economical too, both on fuel and insurance ;) Would highy recommend it as a doggy mobile :)

We too have just bought a doblo mpv, great air con for dogs too and we have had the windows tinted. Plus not mega expensive :)

Who makes that? I have been looking around for something big enough for our two Leos and two big boys and all the extra bags when we go away. We have to take our crates aswell so more roof bars aswell. Any ideas. Thanks

I know there is a Lamborghini Diablo, but i take it thats not the right vehicle.
Hi
I have a Citroen Berlingo van. Great little van but a pain for reversing out of a parking spot as of course you don't have your back side windows and it's really hard to see if someones walking past!!
Also you will have to pay a higher insurance for the van, so I'd get the people carrier. I think thta this is totally unfair seeing as they are exactly the same size but of course insurance companies think that it's for a business. You can of course say that you are a dog trainer, groomer or something which will bring down the insurance.
Have to say though it's brilliant to drive, so much better than a car as you are so much higher up and can see a lot more of the road. You'll be surprised if you hven't driven a van before. I wouldn't do without mine now!

Our last 2 cars were Belingo MPVs. Probabaly better for compartment storage (doggy bits n bobs) but Doblo is bigger at the back. Also lower tax than berlingo.

Its a Fiat Doblo!

Couldn't even fit a dog in the car in a diablo! :D Gorgous car but not suitable for dogs!!! Doblo On the other hand..... :D

Ooh just thought of a good sticker for a Doblo 'I am a Diablo in disguise'
There's no boot space in a van, what you see is what you get :d
We have a Vaxhall Zaphira and the boot space is great. I can fit in the puppy crate and a travel cot and a pushchair in it (all at once).

I have a Zafira just now but I would like just a little more space to save moving the seats so was going to get a new Galaxy, then I thought what I would spend on a decent Spec Galaxy I would buy a van/vehicle just for the dogs so my car is always spotless ;-)

Just about to change my Berlingo for a Doblo - really liked the Berlingo but it has some annoying little faults ( like the windscreen wipers not working in really cold weather !) and I've had some problems with the electrics too.
Yvonne
Interesting that you should say that. I'm having problems with my indicators signal right and the left one comes on as I'm turning! Really annoying if there's a left turn straight afterwards.

Nice to know I'm a trendsetter in something....albeit cars! ;)

now come on..nothing beats my old Ford Escort Van that back fires

which doesnt indicate left either..more money before it's MOT...
much more fun than my Honda
i love my transit only had it 3 months and wish that i had got a van years ago, i have 5 cages in the back, and i still have loads of room for all the stuff i carry around, cages, and bedding, training jumps, flyball jumps etc etc, and i towed with it twice so far. once 350 miles away from where i live and the other 200 miles and it pulled my caravan i did not even know it was on the back love it love love it, will be my van for years fingers crossed, the only thing i would say about a van is if you have just 3 front seats in it and everyone decides they want to come with you and you have a gaggle of kids like i do and grandchildren:rolleyes: you may want to put extra seats in it.

Completely agree Carol - Transits are the best! I've had three, the last one a long wheel base, semi high top, isn't it amazing how you manage to fill it up no matter how large your vehicle is. As I only have 2 borzois now though, and don't intend to have any more when these two are gone, I've just changed to a ulysse people carrier which I love too.
