Topic Dog Boards / General / Tough Squeaker

Just a quicky - can anyone recommend a tough, reliable and safe squeaky toy for Miss Thing?  As quickly as I buy them she 'kills' them; her current record for removing the squeak is fifteen seconds from unwrapping to disemboweling.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Ollies favourite toy is a squeeky, round, orange spikey fish which he has had since Christmas and is still squeeking and whole! We got it from Pets at Home (it might be one of the 'Tough Toys'). It feels like it could easily split, but is played with all the time.  It has a very exciting, shrill squeek though, which he always decides to play with when I'm finally allowed to sit down in the evening to watch the television!

Before that, his favourite toy was a string of plastic sausages (non-squeeking though). Weve had two strings so far, but unfortunately they only last a day, and also a squeeky lamb chop; chewed through and binned very quickly much to his disappointment!

Thanks Nette, that sounds just the job. I will scout round Petsmart when we go to restock for food.

BTW how's Ollie doing with the traffic?  Keep me informed.  He's probably got a far more secure background that Zak and so a firmer foundation for positive change.  I know it can be a total nightmare when everyone stares at the mad dog and his ineffectual owner (or at least that's how it feels) but we soldier on... I'm here to be your cheerleader when the going gets tough(er).

All the best,

Linda

Our longest lasting toy (18 months) is a squeaky latex pig - it's awful, but both dogs have played with it no end - I was hoping they would destroy it as it is so horrible to smell and touch but it's very very tough!  This was either from Pets at Home or Pet Planet!

I find latex the best as my dog can't get a good grip to tear it up. the longest mine have lasted is about 3 months and they were all latex

mine destroy anything that makes an entertaining noise. I bought a toy from pets at home-its like a fairly tough rubber ball, but with feet. The squeaker is between its legs, so its hard to get at. My sister has to boxers who destroy everything, and they've not managed to break one of these! They're £3, so not exepensive. They do one with little horns-maybe you should get one if those :D!!

Our dachsies love the Cuz's,they come in different sizes and colours, the larger one's squeak has lasted the longest because over all it seems tougher.

We got Bad Cuz (red with horns), Good Cuz (white no horns)
and Dino Cuz (blue with zig zag ridge but comes in other colours too).
All have so far survived three Boxers playing with them and still have
their feet intact....
But some people's dogs have chewed the feet off them
