As I went to post on Lucy's thread, it disappeared, so I thought I'd start a tribute to Scrappy-doo here.
Two years ago, I think, a very overweight labrador lumbered into North West Lab Rescue - and found a lovely home. He was put on a strict diet, and many of us followed and sponsored his progress, as he became lean and lithe with his new family, and became Pet Slimmer of the Year - 2004 or 2005 - I'm not sure which.
Sadly, Scrappy doo succumbed to heart problems and has now passed over the Rainbow Bridge. Our thoughts are with his beloved owners of the last two years, who had him for such a short time. You did well by this boy, and he knew only love once he came to you. Be glad that he was yours for this time, not sad that he's gone.

Do I hear an exited yelping?
Dogs recognising friends, ready for fun?
Can I see them, leaping, jumping
Stretching out, racing in the sun?
Can I see the tall wheat waving
Tails like periscopes in the field?
Do I see a black lab leaping
Up to check where we might be?
Do I see a large wide puddle
Wide as the lane, and deep as well
Can I see two labs a-splashing
Getting soaked, happy as hell.
Do I see them, young and glowing,
Fit and healthy, eager to please
Is this the Bridge that we all dream of
Where our dogs wait for us, at ease?

Hi Margot
He is still with us so luckily he is not yet at Rainbow bridge :)
I am wondering why my post was taken away
Don't say PM admin as why would this be taken away ?
I am not sure why posting this story is against TOS

I am so upset this has been taken away

Thank goodness - I stand by all the tributes I've made to Scrapp0y's family and all that they have done for him - sadly Lucy's thread was pulled as I was reading it - and I came to the wrong conclusions - I'm so sorry that I did = but had I been able to read to the end, I would have been corrected.
I'm so glad that Scrappy is still with us!
