I have a 3 mth old CKCS, he is a great pup appart from he will wee in his bed. He has a crate in the kitchen that he sleeps in an night and a soft bed in the lounge for him to sleep in the day. The problem is that Charlie will come in from the garden just to wee in his bed in the lounge. He will then go back in the garden to play. I wash it every time he wee's in it. Any one help?
Hi I have a 12 week old GR and most of the time he does go outside and during the night he always wees on the newspaper. However, he does have this habit of walking into the office looking at me and weeing!! He also wees in the hall and kitchen when the back door is open and he has done what your dog does, runs in from outside and has a wee indoors then runs out again.
I don't have any advice to give you but glad you've posted this and hopefully lots of advice will come in soon!!
at this age, pups are positive widdling machines and i sometimes think it's quicker to train a pup in the winter rather than now when the weather is warm enough for them to run in and out of the garden. i say this because there are no short cuts to the housetraining process and you really need to take them out in the garden every 30 minutes (and straight after meals) and stay out there with them until they've performed. to make the process easier, train the pup to perform to a command word or phrase and then praise them massively when they do. at 12 weeks, no pup has adequate bladder control to last the night so, unless you want to come downstairs to a "present" every morning, consider setting your alarm clock for some sort of silly o'clock in the morning and go down and take the pup out for a wee.
I'm lucky Charlie will wake me up in the night when he need's to 'go'. Normally a few times a night it's like having a new born again. It's just the bed thing thats getting to me.
