Hi I am looking for the breeder of my dog. Its nothing important but in the puppy pack i was given she said to keep in touch. She has since moved. I have found by a database that lists pedigrees that my dog's sire has fathered another litter of pups with the same dam a year later and also another litter with a different dog. Both in the summer of 2005. All her phone numbers are not in use and emails are returned with unknown. I would like to get in touch to tell her how he is doing and she doesn't even know that i am showing him and having some success. She is not a welll known breeder. Have you any ideas i don't suppose the kennel club would give me her number or pass mine on to her. I have looked on the net, I know she uses the computer but can't find her and am running out of ideas. Anyone got any suggestions??? 

You could try the breed club. They may pass your message on to her to get in touch with you.  What breed is it, someone here might know her?

Try the simple way of looking up- www.192.com failing that look to Breed Clubs and see if anyone there can pass on a message...to be honest she should be keeping in touch with YOU!!! I certainly would be if I had sold pups! Ahh well I suppose we are all different! All the best, good luck, Dawn

my breeder certainly hasn't. I got 1 christmas card and then nothing from then.
I emailed her just to tell her the success of Ziggi (the few she has been to) and she suddenly started emailing.
If I ever breed I will keep in touch with them all if possible.

When I emailed her about Ziggi's problems to ask for help I got no reply. as you have probs guessed i am not too impressed with her.

Not every breeder likes to be intrusive in their contact.  A card to remind you they re around is quite OK, as obviously you can contact them at any time, and not all owners want a breeder breathing down their necks all the time.

I have found some owners just don't seem to want contact and with those I give up writing after a while.

Must admit am much better with the ones on line as I am dreadful for not writing letters etc, and I don't send many Christmas cards either.  Don't keep in touch with many family or Friends regularly either.

Tend to keep an eye for the first 18 months (which is when most new owners may have teething problems with new family member).

After all they all know my address and phone number, and if I ever move then they will all get a change of address note.

Have certainly always been available for those who want to keep in touch or have questions/problems, and helped re home a number of varying ages over the years.

You could try chasing up the kennels of the dogs mated to your breeders dog..they might have her new details??
or
Im not sure on this one...but think it may be possible to send a letter to her Via the Kennel club, leave it unsealed so they can check it and post it to them explaining and asking if they'd forward it...worth a try?

Write a letter to her, send it to the KC and they will forward it on for you.  :)  I've done this in the past and the breeder has got in touch.

Hi thanks for all your suggestions. I will try them. The breed is dobermann. You are right i would have sent out a card with new address if that was me. Especially as i got a real detailed typed booklet on how to bring the pup up etc and she asked that he be returned to her if circumstances changed. Not that i would need that as i would rather cut my right arm off than part with him!!! but she wasn't to know that. The thing is if she had kept in touch i might have had a pup from her later litters or helped rehome one of the same litter. Good idea about the kennel club i will try that.
