Hi all me again, I started to wean her at 3 weeks she started of well but now this last week she has not been taking much at all . She is still lively looks well puting on weight, but i am woirred that she is not getting much to eat. Still feeds of mum twice a day any advice please

blue was my only one.she still fed off mum untill 8 weeks which i have done with the rest of my litter let them have mum milk as long as mum lets them mum milks the best.remmber she only just started.blue was only on two puppie food aday at 3 weeks then 3 on 4 weeks 4 bye5 weeks beacuse she was still feeding off mum.

wispa was a very good mum she want to fed them all the time.i donot sepate mum from pup to dry up the milk,mum know when it time to stop feeding them.

One of my litters (four pups) were doing so well on Mum they hardly wanted any food until they were 4 1/2 weeks old.

As long as they are taking something then you know once Mums milk starts drying up that they will be used to getting their nourishment from another source.

There is nothing quite as good as mothers milk.

Interestingly enough that litter started eating loads almost overnight and within a week Mum was only giving them top ups morning and night.

All my girls wills till feed their pups at least once a day until they leave for their new homes, or even to 12 weeks if one stays.

Update on my singleton pup, She is feeding better on 4 meals a day still does not eat much but must be alright has she weighs 3 lbs-2ozs.Very lifely jumps as she is playing. Still sleeps with mum. Its my girls shoice to sleep with pup. Thank you all for your sound advice.
