Does anyone have one?  What are they like?

I have just brought one, white platted, for my red and whites.

As in 'real' kangaroo leather or is that a trade gimmick name?
- By ice_queen Date 13.06.06 19:14 UTC
I was lead to believe real.....

Don't know anything about leads but do about whips :d

That got you all thinking didn't it?  No Paul O'Grady last night had a cowboy of some sorts on and he said that Kangaroo leather is the strongest that you can get.

i buy kangaroo hides for making jesses for the birds & its certainly one of the very best hides you can buy.
- By ice_queen Date 13.06.06 20:17 UTC
LOL perrodeagua!!!!!  At least it's strong!

Saying that leather and chains all in a bag caused alot of amusment for my non dog showing boyfriend!

Really tough motorcycle leathers are made out of kangaroo.

Watch out Rox ...maybe he's heard that "sticks & stones may break my bones but whips & chains excite me":eek:!

Margot, thats the first time I've heard that one....I'm still the innocent little girl you know.... :D

I have a couple of these for showing the Belgians.  They are exceptionally strong and come in beautiful colours.  They do need to be softened though otherwise they hurt your hands!

I,ve got a rwelve foot buffalo hide lead for Sengi which is very soft but I,ve had to put a few knots in it to act as brakes:rolleyes:
- By ice_queen Date 14.06.06 22:00 UTC
Sarah.  I'm glad people have liked them!  Most leather is hard to begin with but it's worth it when they soften IMO.

Not to botherd about colours.  I always have the colour of the dog...in this case white!

Hi Ice-queen,
Defiantely worth it!  As for colours, my Malinois is red and black so I have the lead to match!  It really looks good!!

Sarah, I'm ultra fussy.  Has to be the same colour, nothing else possibly! :D

Do you mind if I ask where you got it?
- By spellmaker [gb] Date 14.06.06 21:54 UTC
Hi Jeff
I got my buffalo lead at a GSD champ show they sell them at most of the breed shows I,m sorry I can,t help you more but if you wait until after Blackpool champ show I,ll get some details of a man who will be there and let you know.
- By Jeff (Moderator) Date 15.06.06 04:35 UTC
Thanks for that, I have entered Blackpool but am undecided whether to go or not so that would be great.
- By ice_queen Date 14.06.06 21:59 UTC
