When we bought our girl as a pup, we didn't intend to show and I didn't think to much about her ownership papers, so I used my name only. Now we ARE showing and we've found that although OH has to come with me to act as my personal sherpa Tensin, my girls PA and her bodyguard. I just could not manage without him and that because his name is not on the ownership papers, we have to pay to get him into some of the shows! This doesn't seem fair as the entry fees are horrendous enough without paying extra for the sherpa. Surely 2 passes would not be a lot to ask would it? I guess we'll have to change the ownership to include Mr, but I wish someone had told me before. Being new to showing is so hard and it must put new people off. Theres the tricky entries for one and not knowing which judges to go for from the ones that will just waste your time, because they don't like your dogs type and have personnal connections with the ones that will win. We have only entered a few times and our girl has done well so far, but the more we watch and get into it, the more we become confussed. I aways understood that there was a KC standard that the breed should be trying to achieve, though having read up and made notes at shows we ask, why does the oblong dog with the flat feet beat the square, when square is the breed standard etc? As I say we are new to showing, so am I being stupid or just........?

I wouldn't stop showing because of it, but fall into line and perhaps learn the game, but then wheres the fun?
