This is a strange one, I have not heard of this before, phantoms ovbviously, and I am of the mind to thinking that she is having a mild phantom.   Well, logically, I would think that she will come in later rather than earlier, if her body is producing milk, then her body thinks she is having a litter, or feeding a litter, so I would think whilst producing milk her season will not start.

If she should come into season, then her body is ready for pups,  with the same chances of pregnancy as any other bitch.

All you can do is wait and see what her body decides to do.

I used to have a bitch who would produce milk when another dog had pups, it does happen!

I have seen this in action, a vall pup i bred went to live with someone who had a 9 year old belgian shepherd, who promptly came into milk and allowed the vall pup to nurse for about 4 weeks.

I think then, as already stated it must be a mild phantom or 'sympathetic milk' LOL You need to keep a very close eye on her to assess when she's ready!! That's the best I can do though! Sorry! All the best, Dawn

Sorry, Minnie, I feel as if I haven't really helped you at all!!! But you do have my good wishes for a happy healthy pregnancy and puppies!!! Love Dawn X

It might be just like Spanishwaterdog says, because you have a three week old singleton with another bitch. Maybe she's got milk because of this.

In Wolves & Wild dogs that live in packs phantom pregnancies are frequent amougst the younger & lower ranked females when the alpha bitch has puppies The pack members act as "nannies"when the pack go hunting & although the puppies are weaned at a very early age the milk produced by the phantoms could be used to quieten the puppies in times of danger or during prolonged hunting treks to keep the puppies hydrated pending the main packs return.

It is only a problem if the milk isn't drawn off(as in the case of domesticated bitches)I rescued a 10 day old kitten & whilst I was sorting out queen milk substitute my 11 year old spayed BC bitch came into milk & the kitten suckled from her ! He did grow up to think he was a dog  :D
