Would love your opinion on this as I laughed when I heard it....
The company I am working for at the moment are thinking of launching a bottle of water designed for dogs. It may have a hint of fish, or meat.
Would any of you buy it, as to me, I don't think it will take off.
Good old tap water for my 2

I could see people buying it

but then I work in a pet store and see what people do buy!!!!!!
I personally wouldn't waste my money.

Can't see mine being enamoured at all - they only really like local water, either fresh from the tap or straight from the loch  Even when we go elsewhere to shows / hols they don't drink well at all unless
really thirsty so I take bottled tap water from home for them (a tad spoilt methinks ) :D

Mine prefer eau de toilette :D :D :D
(you should see the rush for the cloakroom off the utility room when we come in for a walk - they KNOW that Boss always leaves the lid up :D )

definitely would not buy it!
Me neither, yet more artificial colours/flavours etc!
I would be one of those born every minute im afraid! I would at least try it as mine doesnt drink nearly enough. Id try anything to get him guzzling though im not sure that it would take off generally speaking.

At least your honest Caroline! :D
Thanks
Im not one of those that generally tries all these doggy fads. He has a normal bed, normal food and normal everything else but he only has a little water each day which is strange to me as he is such an active and strong lad. Still, hes happy and healthy and im sure he would have a good swig if he was that thirsty!
Caroline

Just can't help but worry though can you? I know I worry if any of my dogs don't seem to drink much, or eat.

Do you feed him wet (tinned or 'real' meat) or dry food? Dogs fed a wet food don't need to drink nearly as much as those fed dry.
Hi
Your right Ice Queen, you just cant help it! Still as long as youre worrying your loving them too. I always think that when those things happen to make us worry, its like a little mental check of how much they mean to us.
JG, I feed ND dog meat and I know in my logical mind that he gets lots of moisture from this and he is a young dog and so doeant drink nearly as much as my friends older girls of the same breed. He also pee's regularly and when you pinch his coat it snaps back quickly so I know hes not dehydrated (vet told me to do this as a home check for dehydration). Its just that when I see how active he is even in this weather and hes panting his head off after a walk and still comes home and has a few sips of water, im amazed. Like I said though I know hes healthy and if he was thirsty he would drink. Just being an overprotective mum!

They know just how to wind us up, don't they? You can take a horse to water ... ;) :D :D
Not water, but i was suckered into buying flavoured bubbles, barbecue and peanut, smells nothing like either and he doesn't even bother with them.
Oh yes they certainly do!!
Mind you im just glad hes a little older now. Last year he wouldnt eat or drink for about 3 weeks of the summer and it was so worrying as he was so young but he never changed in health or personality. In the end he was living on ice cubes made from chicken broth which were a godsend. Im just glad its oly drinking this year and not eating too. You never know, by next year we may be back to both. Watch this space......
Just a little thought, but, ...doggy cant get to the house loo by any chance? Whilst youre not looking? :D
Calmstorm
No definately not drinking from the loo. Just being a troublesome pooch for his mummy.

Definitely not for me. I drink tap water everywhere I go and so does my dog. (unless he finds a muddy puddle of course!)
I wouldn't waste my money either :d

Better just putting some mud in each bottle I think! Certainly mine are always keen to drink out of disgusting muddy puddles on walks :D
Yuk! Fishy or meat water, I think all the dogs I know would turn up their nose. What will they think of next.

Dog water has been around in other countries for ages,it is definately not a new phenominin. The ones i know of have electolytes added,i think, and are helpful for dogs that wont drink enough or to tempt them to drink more, and are just plain nice for the owner who wants to spoil their pooch

.
Personally i wouldnt use it,as my dogs probably wouldnt touch it,but they do get only spring or distilled water at home and i always bring a bottle of water out on our walks, otherwise i would have a hell of a time trying to stop them drinking out of mud puddles!

Hey, if someone wants to pay money for flavoured water then good luck to the person making money out of it.
I think a hell of a lot of money is already made from flavoured water for humans if the supermarket shelves are anything to go by ;)

Mine only drink freshly poured tap water (not standing for longer than an hour or so) or muddy drain or ditch water. :-)
