I am about to frontline the pups (5 weeks old) with the spray and was wondering if Mum can be done with the Spot On like normal or shall I use the spray on her too - wouldn't be easy as she's long coated !

Hi Lydia,

Frontline spot on is perfectly safe to use on your bitch during and after pregnancy. :-)

I don't think I am quite answering the question but is the mother still feeding the pups at all?

Unless there is a neccessary reason I leave mine till they are 8 weeks old and would do the same with the mother. I know they say it is safe to do so but just my thoughts on it :-)

Yes she is still feeding,  you think it's better to wait ?

I personally would myself.   Apart from worming them I never use anything on puppies till they are at least 8 weeks.  Still babies at 5 weeks. :-) if the mother had been treated not too long ago she will be fine till the pups are a few weeks older.

Also Mum is likely to ingest the frontline when she grooms the pups, she will be doing les grooming by 8 weeks.
