hi i mated my bitch last wednesday,i know its far to early for any symtoms,but she has been sick every morning since,dont know if it could be down to the hot weather or not,but she never usually a sickly dog and ideas ??

My girl is on day 30  and has had the odd sicky frothy morning I put it down to a combination of the two!

This happened to one of my girls after her very first mating 6 years ago, my vet said it was the 'shock' of mating   said it sometimes upsets them, not sure if this is true, but she was fine and went on to have a healthy litter of 7

My girl was very off with my younger bitch after mating which concerned me as it was immediately after we returned from the mating.
It has taken 3 wks before she has returned to her normal happy self .I was chatting to a girl who breeds and also is a dog trainer she told me it can happen with the first mating and that it would pass around 2-3 weeks ....she was right she also said it wouldn't happen if I bred from her again only on the first.
So the theory about the sickness is possibly true.
