Hello all,

Anyone know of anywhere where i can get a 2nd hand poultry ark for a small number of laying hens. I'm interested in keeping some 'garden' hens, and have looked on the net for prices/details, but they're sooooo pricey!

I got all the gear when I got my hens. Bit like having a new-born baby, and you think you have to buy it all. I sold my expensive ark on Ebay.Look under dog kennels, I think you can get a better type hut there, then attach a large rabbit run.You may have to adapt the door.
My hens are free-range and their hut I got from the tip for £10.00.They preferred it to the ark so I sold it.
I was given my duck hut but its a nuisance to clean out,as its long and the doors at the back.A small shed was on Ebay with a stable door in the dog  kennel section,it only went for £30.00.

try the practical poultry forum - they have a bring and buy section and quite often have housing for sale.

local farm sales are the best place....ew have picked up several from there for a few quid.....also look in your local free ads un der livestock, thats where our last one came from for £40 it holds 12 hens.
