Ive been dieting now for 2 years. Im doing ww and have lost 3 stone but the only problem is, Im really struggling now!

What I thought might be good is if all you other dieters posted your favourite recipe of something that you eat regularly. So for instance mine is lasange. Very cheap and easy to do. I thought it might be a way of swapping stories and getting more recipes so that we're not always eating the same things? What are people having for tea?

(Im off to the chinese for a hen night but Im hopefully going to stick to mushroom chow mein....as long as my will power will kick in!!)

Hi
My recipe is for a pudding dead dead easy no cooking involved may I add I do slimming world food optomising programme started on 26 March and so far have lost 1 stone 13 pounds.
So for all you slimming worlders out there
take one pack of sugar free jelly add half a pint of boiling water dissolve jelly pour over some frozen summer fruits eg raspberries strawberrys or blackcurrants and leave until nearly set
when almost set mix in one whole pot of muller light yoghurt and return to fridge.
beautiful for the hot summer days we,ve had this week
on slimming world programme this is all completely free food not to be counted in any way even other people who are not dieting can enjoy this as a light dessert
Last week I tried a lime jelly poured over rhubarb stewed with canderel  beautiful:cool:

The jelly is free on ww, you would need to weight the fruit but it will only be a point cos its really low in points and the yogurts about 1 1/2 points each I think. Im sure someone will correct me if Im wrong!!

It sounds lovely that...think I will try that!

I am so glad that you have started this thread Tracey123!  I am a member of WW's and have been for more years than I can remember, I am now 'off it'..... in other words...FAT again!  I am hoping that by reading all of the posts here, I will regain the motivation!  One of my favourite easy recipes is.....one tin of chopped tomatoes in a saucepan, add chopped mushrooms, peppers, onions, oregano, beef stock cube, seasoning and tomato puree.  Simmer until veg are soft, then add 2ozs. of dried pasta and a drop of water (I am not one to measure anything!!) and simmer until pasta is cooked.  It is a huge portion and only the pasta has to be counted on WW's.

Great thread.  I am on WW at the moment and have lost 40lbs but am struggling too now.  Am going to try both those recipes they sound delicious.  I am really into salad at the moment but can't eat it without dressing.  Try the pink 100 percent fat free Total yoghurt with a little sweet chilli sauce.  It is lovely on anything from fish, jacket potatoes, salad etc etc etc.  Good luck to all who are trying to lose weight

- By lfc4eva [gb] Date 10.06.06 08:52 UTC
Ive been doing the WW too altho i am just trying to maintain now as ive lost 2½ stone and done better than i wouldve imagined.

My fave was this

Iceland hot n spicy chicken steaks X2 (think theyre only a £1 a box of 4)
Mixed salad...as much as you want...i use salad leaves, cherry tomatoes, sugar snap peas, mange tout, grated carrot and sweetcorn (½p)

When the chicken is cooked cut it into squares and add to the salad, put some WW grated cheese on top and pour over some kraft low fat caesar salad.....i think it adds up to about 8½ points for the lot and its really yummy.....well imo

I've lost 12lbs with SW but haven't been very good past couple of weeks so need to get back into it.  I like risotto made up mostly of veggies.  Spag Bol again with mostly veggies and a chili added to give a bit of bite.  If I'm hungry at lunchtime a quick snack that is filling and tastly is couscous mixed in half a can of Heinz Meanz Beans (chili flavour).

If I stop slurping the red wine and start writing down what I am actually eating, I am sure the weight will start dropping off again.

What a great thread i'll be trying the pudding for sure!!

I'm such a hopeless cook, so i do the kellogs diet (2 bowls cereal and evening meal) lost 5lbs so far in 2weeks getting boooring tho.

I too am with WW.  Have been since last October.  Have now lost 66 and a half pounds.  Am loving it and still not bored of the eating plan.  The weight is still coming off, not as quickly as before but still 1-2lb per week which is great.

I tend to not do recipes as such, but just love stir frys and noodle type dishes where you can just bung in spices and  soy sauce, stuff like that. Easy stuff.  Also love a nice beef steak with a jacket potato.

I also take a melon cut up, every day to work with me to chomp on.  Yum

Hi Terri

Ive looked into lighter life its very expensive they provide everything you eat costs about £66.00 per week, I asked the nurse at doctors about it and she said everyone she knows that have done it have lost the weight and it has stayed off, you must have more than 3 stone to loose, I was going to go for the intro session but as I am diabetic they did not think I would be able to do it, I am type 2 but am now on the slow release insulin if I'd still just been on pills I would have been alright, I might ask when I go in for my next diabetic check up if I can come off the insulin and try this diet, if I dont get on with it then I can go back on it, Ive only been on insulin for a few months so Im sure I could go back on the pills again, it would make sense if I lost lots of weight it would probably help with the diabeties anyway and in the end that would be better than having to inject every day.

I have been trying to loose a stone and a half for ages after putting it on last Christmas. My problem is my motivation, as I am a confort eater and turn to food when I am depressed or down as something to make me feel good. I am finding the hot weather is actually putting me off unhealthy cooked foods, and I am more into salad right now so I am hoping I can try to kick start a diet again now and see some results. I just know if I don't loose it by this Christmas, I will just end up loosing all motivation and putting on even more weight. I have heard of WW but wasn't sure if they would let me join because I only want to loose a stone and a half. My mum did it years ago and lost a lot of weight (she needed to according to her doctor) and she went from a size 16 to a size 8/10. She has so far managed to keep this off for nearly two years, but she is a very highly motivated person, unlike me!

A friend of mine is on the lighter life and she has lost 3 stone in 2 months - and the pounds are still coming off - she looks super!  but you do have to buy the food etc. from them and it isn't cheap but the results seem very good.  Trying to pursuade my OH to do it but you have to go to weekly meetings and that is not his scene!  They do have a website Terri.

So looks like have to get him back on Slimming World again - its the vino that's the main culprit though!

Yep me too.  Lost 5 stone and only managed to keep on top of the weight for around a eyar,a dn now am almost back to square one :(

If only I could do something with my appetite and quit binging.

I seem to have been able to get down to a good weight about every 10 years, and then can't stay there for more than a year.

That means since the age of 15 (now 42) I have only been ahealthy adult wight for around five years.

You and me to :-)

I tried the jelly pudding at the top, I used raspberries and raspberry and cranberry yoghurt and it was gorgeous!! Really nice and sweet for a summer day!

I think I'll try the pasta dish tonight. I cooked a prawn stir fry the other day which was lovely (noodles, bean sprouts that kind of thing).

My biggest let down is night time. I can be brilliant all day and have cereal for breakfast, a ww dinner for lunch and a healthy tea but then 9.30-10 I start getting peckish and thats when I get silly and binge! Anyone got any tips how I can combat this?

- By CherylS Date 12.06.06 10:55 UTC
I'm such a numptie, I didn't know there was a sugar free jelly   I do use the Muller Lite yogurts on fruit though. I keep a few Vanilla flavoured ones for pouring over strawberries or raspberries but love the banana & custard flavour for pouring on sliced banana - Mmmm.  Will buy the jelly today and try that, sounds lovely
- By Tracey123 [gb] Date 12.06.06 11:09 UTC
Have you ever put them in a meringue nest? Meringues are only 1/2 point on ww. I used to have meringue nest, grapes and toffee yoghurt - I think I had them too often though and now I never fancy them!
- By LJS Date 12.06.06 09:34 UTC
One of my favourites is a big bowl of salad with some chicken pieces (skinless) with mushrooms and garlic fired in a small glug of Olive Oil :) Covered in fat free balsamic vinegar dressing Mmmmmm :D

I do a lovely chinese rice:

Boil about 3/4 points of rice. Fry onions, mushrooms and prawns in a pan with free spray oil, add chopped carrots. Add the rice and about 500ml of any stock. Add some soy sauce and simmer for about 15 minutes until it looks like the stock has dissolved into the rice etc and serve. This is lovely with steak or chinese style pork etc. MMMMMMMMMMM

ooooh some of these recipies are sounding very nice.  I'm not on any diet but might try some of them just to be more healthy! :D
- By Tracey123 [gb] Date 12.06.06 10:30 UTC
I keep trying to get my dad to eat healthily. Hes overweight and Im worried about him. I keep dropping hints by saying that changing things like milk from blue top to green or green to red top can make a big difference, not having sugar but sweetener, not having thick bread but ww bread etc can all help but he's not bothered. Managed to get my mum into it though. I'll keep plugging away!!
