just a bit of quick advise please my bitch is in labour, how long does it take from when the waterbag appears to actual birth of a puppy - she is panting but no pushing or pain infact she is drifting in and out of sleep - no noise

My girl didn't make any noise throughout the whole labour and birth. She had her first pup about 20 minutes after water bag broke.

Good luck HTH

how long to i leave her before the bag will break she keeps straching at the back door to go out side should i take her on her lead

I'd take her out if she wants to go.  If your garden isn't enormous, I'd leave her off the lead but watch her like a hawk.

I would only take her in the garden and yes put her on a lead, Don't take your eyes off her she may think she wants to go to the toilet as a pup is born.
Make sure you remove the sac from pups face if she doesn't do it give it a good rub and put it in the whelping box and mum should deliver the rest there and try to get it to suckle.

Good Luck

You will probably get most of the help you need from your previous litter thread Sharon
