Aww bless - took my old girl to our Club Ch show yesterday just for the day out.  She hasn't been anywhere for a couple of years and to be honest looks old for her 9 years.  She positively hates me taking the younger bitch to shows without her and, much to my husbands disgust, makes her feelings known when I go off for the day in a very vocal way!  Her face was a picture yesterday when she realised she was coming too! LOL

Anyway she won the veteran bitch class and then got the Reserve CC in the biggest entry we've had in years including many overseas dogs! :d  Not only that but she also went Best Veteran In Show beating the dog who, in my opinion, is the best example of the breed in any country and has titles all over Europe, UK and USA.  I also had the pleasure of handling him in the dog challenge where he also won the Reserve CC to his kennel mate so all in all a good day for the oldies!

It's nice that we were a huge source of amusement to the spectators as I have to say I had very little control over my old girl who seemed to find the whole thing highly amusing and insisted on bouncing like an untrained puppy!! LOL  When it came to moving her she just took off like a whippet with a bum full of dynamite!! LOL In her prime she won a total of 19 CCs including 3 years running at Crufts but I have to say this win was to me one of the very best and meant more than some of the tickets she's won :d

Well done Debs, I do love the oldies :)  It's so sad having to leave them behind, and wonderful when you can take them for an outing too. Isn't it funny the way they (like people) seem to regress back to puppyhood :)

Having been at the show I saw Phyllada win. She did enjoy herself leaping about like a youngster. I have a couple of digital photo's Debs if you would like them.
Debs failed to mention what happened as she left the ring !  Marie's plate full of cheesecake duly stolen off top of crate - did it upset her tummy?
Debs also got 2nd in a strong open bitch class with her import - my bitch was unplaced in same class.

On my homeward trip I called in to Southern Counties just in time to see the working group followed by BIS.

Oh good grief the cheesecake!!! LOL  She's always been a thief but as she's got older she now thinks that it's her god given right to steal anything and everything and has no qualms about doing it in front of people! Boy did my back garden pay for it yesterday (we need a vomiting smiley!).  She's fine in herself though so no worries :d

Talking of vomiting yesterday afternoon Yonnie caught a blackbird in back garden, ran inside with Patti in pursuit, then Kiera snatched it and ran back outside and ate it all.  A couple of hours later Kiera was sick - bird feathers !
They often chase the birds but first time they'd caught one in garden.
Some weeks back Patti caught/killed a squirrel in the woods across the road from home - after about 5 minutes she dug a hole & buried it.
Whilst the weather has been warm the hounds sunbathe in the garden then come in for a drink & to cool down then repeat again.
