How soon can you tell if your pup has a hernia?
my pups are 3 days old now and it looks like a couple of them might have hernias.  So I was wondering if any one could say generally when their cords settle down and we will know??
cheers

Many puppies have small hernias which sort themselves out at the pup grows.  If you are at all worried take them to the vet and have them looked at but my guess would be that as they are not drastic given the breeding and the fact that they are thriving.  When you take them for their 8 week check up prior to leaving your vet will be looking for hernias that might cause a problems.  Give me a ring if you would like Ron to have a look.

I personally would say the cords heal quiete fast but as echo says you could take them the vet and get them checked out although i'd give them a week:cool:
