I was at the vets today for annual booster and a couple came in with a cat basket and saw my dog and asked to say hello to him, they had a cuddle and everything was fine then they said "we've got rabbits, lets show them the rabbits", before i could realise what was going on they had plonked the cat basket with 3 rabbits down in front of my dog for him to meet them!!!!! luckily he was quietly intriegued by them but i was gobsmacked!  takes all sorts.

I'd say they are lucky their ickle rabbits didn't keel over with shock!

got to say that one of the most useful early experiences nips had in the vet's waiting room was when this couple put their cat basket down and suggested i introduced the pup (then aged 10 weeks) to their cat. i was seriously unconvinced but the cat was about 4 times the size of the pup and had an air of baleful seniority about her that resulted in him giving her a deal of respect.

these inter-species meetings can go horribly wrong mind and unfortunately, our neighbour's fixation about the need to introduce him to their chickens resulted in precisely the inevitability i'd predicted way back when he was a very little pup and i'd originally turned down this kind invitation. only when the neighbour finally engineered this encounter last week, nips promptly chased both chickens into the ditch and gallumphed around like an eejit in the inch or so of muddy, cow-piddled-in water after them. it took my oh to rescue both chooks whereupon nips spent the rest of the afternoon attempting to set up an around the clock, Neighbourhood Henwatch which involved anguished yipping and an eventual removal indoors. 

lol..some people are truly bizarre, mine can snatch a rabbit up in a second but are very sweet and cuddly with people, how did they know yours wasn't the same :rolleyes:
