Our son is soon to be 21 and we are at a complete loss as to what to buy to mark the occasion (and he already has a lovely watch!)
We don't have a particular budget in mind, so if anyone has any good suggestions PLEASE share them. If only he was a girl, after all we can never have too much jewellery, diamonds etc..... can we?
All suggestions will be gratefully received, credit card is at the ready, shops on standby!

Why don't you do something spectacular and buy him some flying lessons??? Failing that there are always boys toys like games gadgets and maybe a laptop? Otherwise a very nice signet ring?? All the best, Dawn

Adopt me!!! please!!!!!! I'm easy to buy for ;)
Has he dropped any hints????
Does he have a girlfriend you can collar for any hints??
Push over Huskygal, they are mine........they can adopt ME :D
Does he wear suit and tie? Cufflinks? Some very nice tie pins and cufflinks around. thinking on gold and maybe even diamond in either. Does he wear a neckchain? St Christopher? Rings?
Really, it depends on if you want to give him something he can keep forever, or something top of the range as in 'boys toys' for now, knowing at some future date it may be discarded, a deposit on a new car, or something adventerous that he can have pics of and remember forever, such as driving a racing car, flight in airballoon or plane, etc.
if you mixed them, you could give him something personal he could keep forever, and something wow for now........
I agree with calmstorm on the driving thing! Try here . . .
http://www.buyagift.co.uk/cgi-bin/Buyagift.storefront/EN/catalog/1110Check out the driving days! Im hoping to put my bloke in a Lamborghini for his birthday! :D They all vary in different prices and theres loads of cars to choose from :D
If not, have a browse on the site, theres loads of other gifts and things! :)
I agree, go for a gift experience, flying, driving or something like that.
paintballing is another experience you can buy...and most boys love that (and some girls too)

Experiances are a good idea, I got one for my 18th where I can choose from white water rafting, helicopter, or rally driving so I've got a choice.
Why are boys so hard to buy for? When I buy for girls it's soooo easy and they always love what I buy them! When it comes to blokes.....I'm still at a loss on what to buy my boyfriend for his 21st. Maybe I'll just do the same as I do for the girls!!!!

Is he interested in the grand prix ! you could buy him seating tickets for him and a friend (bit pricey ) brilliant experience that goes on all weekend you can get packages with travel and accomodation included.Plus it doesnt have to be British they are all over the world!!
My son has just had his 21st (hes been grand prix) so we just gave him a big wad of cash as he had his big one at 18!!

How about a personalised number plate, a lot of them a cheaper than you would think.

Mine was given an engraved ID bracelet, we weren't sure what to do either so okayed it with him. I thought it would be a bit naff but he was very happy...Hope that helps.

thanks for all the brilliant ideas. I have gone for the experience suggestion and chosen a driving experience. I think the "wad of cash" option is also in the mix, as there have been lots of hints about needing a car when he graduates next month !. Anyone else looking forward to their offspring returning, just when you have got used to the quiet......

LOL - oldest doesn't come home anymore (at least not for long periods) as he's doing a PhD. Doubt whether he will ever come home permanently as he's planning to get married when he's finished studying. YEAH :D Youngest will be home at the end of June. She's got another year to go - so haven't got rid of her yet :D

I should have done what my brother did - as soon as his two sons were at uni he sold their beds and converted the bedrooms to a study for himself and a workroom for his wife. guess I just wasn't quick enough:rolleyes:

LOL - unfortunately neither of mine have had accomodation during the holidays at uni (daughter will from this autumn) - so, unless we wanted to see them out on the street, we had to have them home in the holidays :D :D :D We don't really mind - they make very good dog sitters/walkers :)
