hi guys n gals!

im looking for your ideas on the best ear mite treatment , our dog seems to continuously get them , he has had ear wahses and ear drops etc but do not seem to work for long we have now started on Stronghold and have been told about Advocate have any of you used this or would recommend these or anything different , cheers for your help

My dog got ear mites 3 weeks ago,I had used frontline but have switched to stronghold,my friend who is vet nurse told me next time to use advocate as I think it does everything including worming?I am pretty sure thats what she said,although I also think you give it every 4 weeks so bit more expensive.
I asked my vet, and he said he hadn't heard of it yet,helpful as ever,but at the moment,stronghold works for me.

Worked for me where vet medications failed.

Me too. My old dog suffered terribly from recurrent mite infestations and ear infections. I must have spent a fortune in vets's fees and after using Thornit they were fine for the rest of his life.

Further to the info on the locked thread regarding medications on the internet.  Please note there is a very large industry of counterfeit drugs on the internet.  At best these can be ineffective at worst they can be highly dangerous.  When buying products you can check with the manufacturers using the batch numbers to confirm their authenticity.  Many manufacturers have web sites allowing you to do this with ease.

I have been using Stronghold on my dog every two weeks for 12 weeks because his ear mites were diagnosed as Sarcoptic Mange He had a blood test at the vets for Sarcoptes and it came out positive.  He was scratching all day long before and made a right mess of his ears. He would scratch till he made them bleed and sometimes in the morning his ear and his face would be red with blood (he is a white dog ) Anyway the Stronghold every two weeks has done the trick and he is a lively, healthy happy dog again now which I am thankful for because he was diagnosed as having food allergies by the first vet he saw when he was 17 weeks old and was on steroids every couple of months or so which were actually helping the sarcoptic mites to breed.
