I may be wrong,

but I think it's just the spot on treatment that is now off prescription, the spray remains by prescription only.

It's only the flea spot on which isn't prescription anymore - the flea and tick one (Frontline + ?) is still prescription only.

The card I have says frontline for fleas ticks and lice

Yep the one that has come off prescription is the original Frontline spot on. The spray and Frontline Combo are still prescription only.

... while you're on this topic what's the best and cheapest wormer to use?
I think Drontal + is one of the most comprehensive. Milbemax is supposed to be comprehensive too.
Panacur doesn't kill one type of tapeworm.

I find that very strange as the spray is actually more dilute (though a larger overall quantity) than the Spot on.
I use the spray as it is more economical to use.
Don't use milbemax on collies or collie types though as many seem to be allergic to them. Drontal is probably the best.
Yes the spot on is definately cheaper in shops and on line than in vets as for some strange reason they are able to purchase it at a cheaper price.

ive found milbemax to be great on all my cockers never had a reaction unlike the other well known brands ;)
Can I just ask if anyone has had problems with ticks even after using frontline combi?? I personally havent but have heard lots of people finding huge ticks on their dogs within days of applying the dual purpose frontline??
