Thanks, I'll let you know if it works! Chucked the mothballs out 10...yes 10...years ago, opened it up, but the smell remains, washed it out, same thing, got fed up banished it to another spare room. Now, with summer (em where...:D) upon us, thought Id have one last go before I sell it! Not that I want to, its huge, great for thick jumpers and jeans.........just cant stand the smell!!!!!!!!!
What about putting smelly drawer liners in and see if the drawers absorb that smell to overide the mothballs, ive had furniture from second hand shops lots of times and always use tumble dryer sheets in the drawers and cabinets, smells nice after a short while?
Thanks all! I have tried the comfort sheets, it beat them. Will be trying all the other suggestions, and follow up with the comfort sheets again. I have to say these moth balls were heavy duty ones, judging by the smell! The old lady (OH aunt) must have had them in there for years! i will do some shopping, get the drawers out if the weather stays nice, and give them a good sorting. let you know how it goes :)
