- By Jeff (Moderator) Date 26.05.06 16:11 UTC
Hi all,

Could anyone who goes to Bath on Friday or Saturday let me know what the ground conditions are like please? Good luck to all those showing whatever day.
- By Lynne [gb] Date 26.05.06 16:18 UTC
We are going tomorrow - good luck to everyone too.

Very, very muddy acording to my mother who drove past today. The caravan site is more mud than grass now and the show ground is boggy. Thankfuly the tents have been up for a few weeks so it should be drier under there.

Any update on what it's like today?  I'm supposed to be going tomorrow but what with the weather & my back crippling me, I might just stay home in bed

My friend is there today and having just spoke to her, she said it is a complete mud bath and 10 times worse that what SKC was....... (am still trying to get the mud out of my jeans from SKC)......
She said she has ''walked out of her wellies'' today, as they got stuck in the mud !!!!!!
Glad we didn't enter........

Hope that helps, :D

Just another thought  I don't suppose your friend said what the car park is like?

Hi just got back, the rings are ok just nice grass and not too waterlogged, the aisles though are very muddy so you would need to carry a coated breed through, the entrances are diabolical 3 inches mud and the car park is OK long grass very wet but ok, a bit dicey leaving when you join the main tracks as they are very muddy, but there is a tractor going round the caravan park (which looks the worst by far) so i guess they are ok if anyone were to get stuck but i think unless there is really bad rain all night you should be fine.

you need to take a couple pairs of boots and change of clothing

god it was muddy

Why don't they put own runners, like they do at the ag shows??

We came home last night from Bath we were on the mud pile laughingly called the caravan park, should have known when we were on of the first there and we had to be towed on!! There was 4 box toilets for the whole site and one waste point right up the other end of the site.

The site was lovely Thursday night on the show site but after the first day the mud was getting thicker, dogs were thick with it so we gave up and came home, we have trouble getting off the caravan site thSo pleased to be home.

BUT still look forward to 3 counties

Well I must be mad, as I bathed two dogs today while it was pouring with rain.

Not wanting to get the bathroom filthy and hairy I decided to tie then outside and use the watering can to wet and rinse them with.

I put diluted shampoo into a spray bottle and misted it on liberally.  I love this way of applying shampoo as it gets all over, without having patches of shampoo in places and none other places or running off the dogs.

So the living room is aroma bathed dog, whcih I don't mind (not like river or rain wet dog), but the kids think it is gross

The one I am using at the moment is by Plush Puppy for light coloured dogs.

Hopefuly they will be fully dry tommorow in time to get muddy on Monday

Sorry you won't be there tomorrow Lynn, I was beginning to think I might not go either but as I am staying at Shirleys tomorrow I won't pass up an evening of red wine and good food! See you at Three Counties. Well done at SKC.

Good Luck, do not forget the wellies and spades to dig yourselves out of the car park. I know Alexa is still going. Have a good look at the field next to the car park with the caravans in then you will know why we can home.

We are leaving again on Tuesday have some time at Stratford before going to 3 Counties

I was at Bath yesterday and the weather was horrible!!
My dogs wre so bored because they couldn't go out only for a quick wee. Judging was in the tiny wet weather rings with the tent poles in the middle.  tThe gang ways were just awash with rain making to very hard avoid the mud.  I've washed by jeans 3 times now and there's still mud staines on them!
I really feel sorry for the exibitors today, I imgaine the ground will be terrible.

Still, the judging was good!  Took two of my own Flatcoats and handled another 3.  Qualifed two and got 2nds with the other 3.  Not bad for one day's showing!! :)

How did everyone else get on??
- By Harmony Date 28.05.06 16:16 UTC
I weighed everything up at 5.30am this morning & went back to bed :D  My back is absolutley crippling me at the mo, I heard about vehicles being towed & how bad the ground was, I only had 1 entered who now has her stud book number  & my bed seemed the better place to stay ~ lol!!

The bitch CC went to Downstream Destiny's Child, the RCC was Withybed Miss Montana.  Withybed Blue Jeans went BOB.

I think you were wise to go home, the weather just got worse!! I hope you had plenty to drink, Tangle did so well!!!!!

I go home at about 7pm and went out for a well earned drink (got a little bit drunk) and a nice meal!! All round a great day, except for the rain!! :)
