Can any of you multi dog households help me?
My 3yr old goldie is such a bully. Everytime my springer picks up a toy to play with she runs over and takes it away from him. He tends to just accept it and find something else, which she then drops the otehr toy and takes that one. SHe dogs like to play tug with him and tend to use this as a game, but often it ends up with her having the toy and him barking at her, presumably out of frustration. Its so maddening as murphy loves playing with toys by himself and she jsut won't let him. SHe doesn't seem to bother with megan, presumably becuase she knows megans ball is hers and hers alone!
Missy used to do this whenever I made a fuss of Bonnie - until she learnt that bullying behaviour got her NOTHING - if I were you, I'd be looking to shut the Goldie away as soon as this sort of behaviour starts, but ask yourself WHY is she doing it? Is she getting enough play sessions alone with you? Does she get enough attention from you (so this isn't just an attention seeking behaviour).

Sorry, but all my Goldens do exactly the same to each other. They all seem to want the same toy. I don't see it as bullying, more they want to tease each other. Luckily because they are all the same they seem to accept the behaviour from each other. However if your other dog is getting upset then I would take it from the Golden and give it back to the other dog and tell her NO! I am not saying this will always work but perhaps she may have a bit more respect for the other dog eventually. But be warned Goldens are terrible at teasing.

My Labs do it as well :)
Dudley is the worst out of the two :)

Only one of my dogs
really likes toys, and as far as he's concerned they all belong to him. However his brother will deliberately wind him up by picking up a toy and then going to find him, prancing about with it then running off when chased, twisting and turning so that Harry can't get it back! It's the only time Piglet ever touches a toy. Brothers, eh? :D

Same in this house, none of my dogs are toy orientated, but if one does happen to have one....they all want it.... Pheobe is quite fly at the moment.... (9week old Lab) she bides her time, waits till the tousle dies down and walks in under the 'winner', grabs toy from mouth, and runs, no-one sees it coming :D

Sounds like my house

We don't have toy problems here :D Tara only likes her footballs and her 'baby' - a large gorilla soft toy that she grooms and sucks :D Bramble has a box of assorted toys which he rummages in and plays with most of the them eventually :) So they never argue about toys :)
