I no you people have probably been asked this question thousands of times, but what is the correct day to breed a bitch. My bitch came into season yestarday, and i would like to know what day is best to breed her?
Thank yoou very much

A couple of my girls go to stud on days 11 & 13, another on day 9 & 11, so each girl can be different, if you are using an experienced stud dog he will let you know if it's the right time, if not then you need to get her pre-mate tested at your vets.

A couple of days after she's ovulated. That can be any time between Day 5 and Day 20; it varies from bitch to bitch and from season to season in the same bitch.

I would have suggested pre-mate or cytology...but from reading some of your previous posts, I am more inclined to suggest spend a couple of years researching your breed before considering mating her....Is this the same girl that had a litter at 16 months, or is this another girl you have bought??

im been in this breed for a very long time. No it isnt the same girl. 16 month is ok in some profeesionall breeders terms so please dont judge me.

So you have now had all the relevant health tests done??? And found a breeder mentor???
I'm very concerned about your posts: you say that you are allowing your stud dog to MATE in a public park - this is most certainly not the best place to do it - what contingency plans do you have if any other loose dog is around? It is completely and utterly irresponsible IMO

health tests have been done, and i have a recongnised breeder helping me along. You can be as concerned as you desire it dont effect me. What does effect me if you give me good advice please
>and i have a recongnised breeder helping me along
If that is so, why would you come on here asking such a basic question?

Temper ,temper

Looking at your old posts and reply I wouldn't help you if you were the last person on earth. No wonder decent Staffy breeders and owners get such a bad name.
I met someone like you in the park last week, just as charming

Bad language is not permitted on this site. You came on, asked questions, we checked your previous posts, and checked that you have followed advice given previously.
You obviously have a problem :(
I breed to better the breed simple as.How can using the same dog 10 times better the breed?

Blimey, another one one that think they know it all,why bother asking then?I presume you have got clear results for L2hga and hc?

in reply to the poster mentioning sbt's in rescue. the same could be said on several 'popular' breeds, where the rescue centers are fit to burst! so what do we do , stop breeding, stop trying to improve the breeds. It's a lovley thought that everyone wanting a particular breed will visit the various centers, but a lot of the mentioned dogs through __no thought of their own__. have behavioral problems and most people end up returning them. attacking other poster's on their chosen breed will not do anything but stop people posting and asking for advice!!

>the same could be said on several 'popular' breeds
Very true, but two wrongs will never make a right, all these "blighted" breeds should be left alone by the amateur and only the very knowledgable and responsible should be left to continue the breed in it's true interests.
in reply to the poster mentioning sbt's in rescue. the same could be said on several 'popular' breeds, where the rescue centers are fit to burst! But the Staffy is the ONLY breed to have been singled out by the KC itself as one being in trouble with too many being bred........
