Now I'm getting really frustrated:eek: - folk send me video clips (only nice ones I hasten to add), and the computer cuts them out after about 5-6 secs, so I don't get the punch line ever.

I've looked at my settings, and can't seem to see anything that sorts it out - anyone got any ideas??

I'm no expert in all this technology stuff  but have you tried playing them again (using the little small arrow that usually appears to "start") as I find that often gets them lasting longer, I've done it up to 3 times sometimes and it's helped me to see the end.

I'm sure someone more experienced will be along soon Jo!

Do you save the attachments to your computer or play them from email? I won't start talking about streaming buffers but I'd try saving the attachment on your hard drive and playing it from there if you haven't done that already.

Ah - hadn't tried saving them - however, short clips that I've saved myself if the dogs, grandchildren etc will only play for a few seconds as well.   They used to be alright.

Streaming buffers eh?    What you have on stream trains?????

I'll have another go....

Ah - just watched the one I wanted using Real Player instaed of Windows - it was fine with this, but now have to try to set it as default, I suppose.

All this technology - doesn't do much for the brain...

We find that the more technology we use at work the mushier our brains get! And my company manufacturers bespoke software and PC's. (we also think staring at monitors makes men go bald as all our software engineers are losing it ;-) )

I found this link for fixing Windows Media player. If you can use Real player that may be easier than pulling out the old PC toolkit. I'm surprised that Real didn't take over as default player. I haven't downloaded a version in a few years because I've always found it to be such an invasive little piece of software. If you need help setting something as a default you can PM me.

That was a useful link, Lori - as I'm working with Mozarilla Firefox does it make a difference?

Sorry to be stupid at all this.......(but I am...)

What player are you using Jo? Is your puter running all right otherwise?

Hi Lori

I don't think the computer is really up to scratch anyhow, actually.   Sounds silly, but there'a a blank quadrant that appreared on my worktop for no obvious reason, which I can't get rid of, and everytime I turn off (usually because the printer's throwing a wobbly) it insists on trudging through a FAT32 check, then sometimes sticks, and we have to let it  have a little rest to get over it!!

Any help greatfully recieved, as it can get awfully frustrating!
