Hello All,

Been a long while since i've been around due to lack of internet access! Good to be back!  However, my first post in a long time is not a nice one!  Charlie, 3 yr old Lhasa Apso (the poster child for why you should buy from a registered breeder and not a pet shop, but that's an issue i've spent many guilt ridden hours pondering, so lets not go there) has just been diagnosed with the above (alongside his other numerous complaints:rolleyes:).  I'm going to google the condition now, but was just wondering if anyone on here had any experience of it. 

The vet has told us it is as a result of an autoimmune disease, and it means lifetime medication (Although hopefully only 'false tears' once we have it under control); he is currently on hypromellose eye drops and optimmune ointment.

Hi, my nine year old cocker has this ,no good news to report.Be careful not to miss giving the eye treatment ,false tears works on its own for a while but as the dog gets older more care needed.

Ps I did buy from a registered breeder I got from breed club.Bad breeding ,only in it for the money.

The term idiopathic means of unknown cause.  As you see in the link there may be some familial link but this is not something you can test for so I'm not sure that any breeder can be blamed if this condition occurs.
