Any suggestions as to how to body up my bullmastiff a bit? She is now three and a good height with a lovely head but it was noticeable at Birmingham that she is not carrying the same bulk as alot of the bitches there. She has good musculature and I dont want to just feed her more food and fatten her. Someone suggested the new tripe Masters. Has anyone tried this? Thanks Sam.
Yes she is from slower maturing lines, but she should be coming into her own now she is three. I have no wish to have a 'lardy' bully, but she is very lean and I feel that it is holding her back in the ring. It was her breeder who suggested trying the tripe masters although she hasnt actually used it which is why I wondered if anyone on here had? Thanks, Sam.
I don't think it should even be considered unless that was the plan anyway. Bringing unplanned, unwanted, unsuitable puppies into the world for the sake of the look of a bitch has got to be the worst reason ever.
But nobody knows yet if she is just a slow maturer! That's just being assumed. It's possible that she's reached her growth potential. I have a dog (of a different breed) who at nearly 7 years old resembles a 9-month puppy. He'll never look as he should, which is one reason why he'll never be bred from.
