Having woken up feeling poorly I decided to take the day off work.  I had a quick browse through the new posts and read of Liberty and Alexanders having a really difficult time.

I've just taken a call from work with news that has shocked me to the core.  One of the young people I worked with, and had a particularly good relationship, was found murdered in the early hours of saturday morning.  He had the most difficult life history anyone could imagine with the most amazing and dedicated grandparents anyone could wish for.  I can't believe anyone who had lived such a tragic life could end their days in such a tragic way.

Its hard to take in such tragic news.

Heartfelt sympathies go to everyone who's having a difficult day.

How awful, awful awful. When one of my brother's old school friends was murdered it upset me for a long time.  I just couldn't shake off the shock of it, the waste of a life and the sadness that it brought to so many people.  I hope you can come to terms with this awful news more quickly than I did.

Cheryl it doesn't feel like I will at the moment. This is a new experience for me, not only the death of someone so young, but also someone I have worked closely with and got a good bond with, but also a death in tragic circumstances.  Its all too awful to get my head around.

How awful!  My brother died suddenly through illness, but one of my best friends years ago, her grandad just lost it and killed her brother and nearly killed her, she had to fake her death to escape, she was only 11 at the time!!  I remember being asked by my school to go and see her it was a terrible time.

I just wonder what goes through peoples minds to do this sort of thing?:mad:

Jacky - I  can sympathise with how you feel. I too had a colleague murdered, many years ago - she was attacked in the lift of her block of flats on her way home - all for a cheap gold ring :( :( I also lost my boss a few years ago. He went home one day and killed himself - no warning signs, nothing :( It does get better believe me - time heals.

I also missed your post yesterday.  What a terrible shock for you.  I know of two young people whose lives were ended violently - one was stabbed while out with his parents a couple of years ago on New Years Eve and the other a young teenager who was killed in a hit and run.  We cannot even begin to fathom what goes on in a murderers mind.  Make sure you talk to people about it and how you feel - it really does help.

Take care

Really sorry to hear about this jackyjat.
Not sure why and it sounds really odd but I've always found the sudden death of people I knew quite well but who weren't family or very close friends more difficult to come to terms with.
Thinking of you

Oh JJ,
Soo sorry to hear this :( Its almost surreal when you recieve news of this kind, Hard to understand and accept.
  Hope your feeling better now though as you were under the weather too.. x
Do you know if perhaps people have been laying flowers for this Young Lad? Maybe that might help you, to lay some flowers and a wee note.. he had a hard life and it might be nice to show that he touched your life in a positive way..a comfort for his poor Grandparents too I expect?
{{Big Hug}}
You made a nice tribute to him here... xx
