Hi everyone,

just a bit confused and wonder if you could help. i have got a bitch that is due in whelp on sunday 28th may. i have a steathascope on order which i should get tommorrow, i dont want to get her scanned perfer to use the steathascope. And she is booked in at the vets a 4 today. she is showing all the signs of pregnancy. loss of apitite, pacing, digging a nest, her teats have become a LITTLE saggey. The main thing is that she has put on 2kg. the problem is, is that she is not showing. her teats havent fill up, shes not producing milk. At first i thought it might be a false pregnancy, but i dont see how as she has gained 2kg.Then i thought she might just have one or too really small pups, but still i dont see how two tiny pug puppies that will weigh next to nothing make her put all that weight on. I have been checking her temp every 4 hours which for some reason its never reached 100f it is avering at 98.6f to 98.4 and its dropped as low as 96.2. she is really confusing me as one minute she is showing all the signs and then next she isnt. i will probally find out more when i go to the vets. just wanted to know if any of you have had the same experience and what happened. then main reason is because vets have qualification but most of them dont breed dogs and they can only tell you what they have learnt from books.

Hi has your dog gone yet? i'd imagine if she was being small she would definitely show but she could be having a small litter or a phantom.  Good luck Susan

Hi thanks Susan She went and it wasnt looking good so we did take her for a scan the next day and it was a phantom thanks you your post
