Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / help??

I have 2 bitches 3yr and 18m I have 1 wk ago mated one of my girls .
Since returning from the stud dog my older girl has had a personality transplant . She has become very moody with my younger girl giving her the eye if she enters the living room or if younger girl is getting any attention from family members she pushes her way in and looks at younger girl who then will run off and get in her crate .
I know  bitches can be peculiar when in whelp but after 1 week I suspect this is rather early for this behaviour.
I am very concerned as to what the next 8 wks if she is indeed in whelp will bring.
Both my bitches have wonderful temperaments never had a dissagreement, sleep together, play together I would normally say they were inseperable so am very shocked at this behaviour.
No fight as yet but I am monitoring thier every move .
Has anyone ever been through this before ?
has she knocked herself up a notch because she has been mated?

any ideas on best way to deal with this?

Also my younger girl is due her season in less than 2 wks time could this be relevent?

That's very possible. Her status has been elevated and she's now alpha (if you believe in pack theory). She could be feeling a bit off-colour and the mating is purely coincidental. She could also be reacting to the younger bitch's hormone status, possibly seeing that as a challenge. Personally I'd keep monitoring them, and support the older one in her status.

how strange,i wouldnt of thought your girl  would be showing any changes yet. maybe as jg says she sees herself as alpha now because shes been mated,im sure shele settle eventually.
just keep an eye on them both. and goodluck i hope she takes :)
