Well just got back from a lovely walk appart from...
... the most horrific dog attack i have ever seen.
I was walking with my parents minding our own buisness when suddenly we heard an all mightly racke+. I left the dogs with my parents and went to see what was happening.
When i got there i couldn' t believe my eyes. There was a huge staffy litterally trying to kill this little westie. The Staff had "locked" its jaws onto the westie and would not let go. The owners were trying everything - kicking, pulling ears, kicking again and it would not get off. They even stuck a key up the staffy's bottom but it wouldn't let go.
This fight carried on for must have been 15mins and we just couldn't get the staffy off. I thought i was going to see a dead dog soon. Eventually we found a huge stick and it took 5 mins to prize open the dogs mouth enough to get the westie out.

The westie ammazingly had not too much blood but i don't know what internal damage was done.
I felt so sorry for the owners having to watch the dogs do this.
I was shaking for the rest of the walk. Unfortunately the staffy was a rescue so who knows why he did this.
Just needed to tell pepole as i am so shaky.
Thanks

That must have been terrifying.  What are you supposed to do then if a dog locks on like that?  Were the people owners of both dogs?  Was the Staff off the lead? Lots of questions, sorry

Yeah both owners were there all trying to get the dog off. The thing is they were kicking the staffy so hard i would have thought the staffy might have thought the other dog was doing it and bite harder. Then again you can't just leave it to happen.
The staffy had been on a long line but it had snapped.
The stick worked in the end by prizing open the jaw at the hinge end so that the front end opened enough to get the other dog away.
Usually a key up the bum works in my experience but this dog was really going to kill.

Blimey - a key up the bum!  I never would have thought of that one.
Surely a dog that aggressive needs to be put to sleep?  If it broke its line to get at it's 'prey' nothing could stop this happening again with a child.  Did the owner of the staffie make any comment about it happening before?

I think white van man needs to collect that Staffy:eek:

A dog aggressive dog doesnt mean it will hurt children..............

 what a very stupid comment to make why the **** would you put a key up the dogs bum.
would you do that to a human no i dont think so.
how dare you do that to a dog its a shame the dog didnt turn around and attack you.
if the dog was aggressive it should have been muzzeld and on a short lead its the owners fault.
if its a rescue dog or not mean nothing i use to have boxers who would attack and rip into other animals i would never let them on a long lead.
but funny enough yet they were rescue dogs and wouldnt touch a child.
if people would learn to control their dogs this sort of thing would not happen.
i really can not say how annoyed iam you would ever think of doing that to any dog:mad:

It should not have happened but it did and if the dog was on a line that broke it seems to have been an accident.  I must say if it was my dog in it's grip I would be doing whatever I thought might help to get it off.  Who could ever think of leaving a dog to be killed?
