Topic Other Boards / Foo / Large Lino?
- By squaddy Date 20.05.06 15:22 UTC
Hi,
Sorry to be a pain, but does anyone know where you can get the larger size lino?
As at the moment it only goes up to 2m's and i need bigger.

Thanks

Do you mean Lino or Vinyl?  Lino is sort of welded together so the width does not matter.  If you put vinyl 2 metre width into Google several sites come up, mostly commerial flooring I think.

Sorry to confuse, im talking about the stuff which you put in you kitchen.
Im not sure which one it would be.

My kitchen is 4ms x 4ms, and id prefer not to have to buy i think its lino and stick it together, as muck will go down the centre, no matter how close it is together.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure you are talking about vinyl, that is what you usually see in the shops.  Linoleum is also used in kitchens but it is very expensive and rarely seen in shops generally bought from a specialist supplier but it does have the adantage of being sealed together with heat to make it seamless.  I doubt you will find a vinyl 4 metres wide but when a sealant is applied you should not get anything going through the joins, after all many people have vinyl tiles, myself included, with many, many joins ;)

Could you be talking about Amtico?

Amtico.  Beautiful but very pricey.

If you go for Amtico make sure that it's put down by an experienced fitter.  My daughter had it put through the downstairs of her old house and it looked beautiful after 4 years hard use.  She had it put down by a local fitter in her new house last June and she called him back every week for 2 months because it kept lifting! :(
