Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / off her food
- By anz1912 Date 16.05.06 14:26 UTC
hello

my lhasa apso after weeks of slightly swelling down below has finally come on season . the problem is today she isnt eating her food or scrambled egg which she usually loves and seems very quiet in herself .
will she be off her food due to her season ,
this is her second season and with her first we hardly noticed as she didnt really change much .
our vet is not the greatest and half the time he isnt sure what he is on about .

thanks in advance  angie

My gsd went off her food when she was in season it got to the point were i was feeding her by hand. she was also very quit and kept looking at me as if to say whats happening. she been out of season about aweek now but the past 2 days has been off her food again. but i would'nt worry to much i think she eat when she ready.

My girl went off her food a couple of weeks before the start of her season too and her appetite only seems to have returned this week....12 weeks after her season ended!!

Hi Angie
My Girls have in the past gone off there food when they have come into season, as long as she is herself i wouldnt be too worried. I would suggest to change your vet, as I believe that all pet owners should have a good relationship with there vets. Hope her appetite soon returns.

thanks for all the replies

she ate a bit last night after we had played in the garden . she is fine in herself so i am not really worried .
i am changing vets as mine is useless and only interested in making money . heard good reviews about a vet a couple of miles away so going to try there as i just got a 8 week pup who needs injecting  , will take deja vu as well for a checkup .
