Yes, this is the very time of year that my poor old Dandie was plagued by them. A squirt of Nuvan Top to her feet every now and again kept them at bay. Another possible cause of feet chewing in overfull anal glands.
Another possible is allergies - one of mine suffers and is chewing at her feet a bit at the moment. I'm just sneezing!!
An old fashioned remedy was diluted TCP - bathe their paws in it.

If she has suddenly started chewing her paws there has to be a reason. I would take her to the vet and get her anal glands checked as that is one of the most common causes of chewing them as for some reason it can cause itense itching in the feet and legs. If its not that then check for mites and finally allergy is a possibility.

You could try keeping her off the grass and washing her legs down daily with Hibscrub. Frontline her also.
thanks everyone
i have applied the bitter lime again and she has not chewed at her paws today
i am bringing her to vet to get her booster so will get him to check her over
many thanks
