It looks likes Breeze is on heat again. Came down this morning to find blood on her bed. It's quite light at the moment, but I have heard that the second season isn't as bad as the first one. Her last one was only 4 months ago, so 2 months after this I will have her spayed as I have no plans to breed her.

I guess that training is out the picture for the next 4 weeks as she is in a group class and there are other groups there that train in a different area but not that far from us beginners.

My baby girl is maturing fast.

Hi Sarah

Just from personal experience I would say the first season is lighter than subsequent ones.  Keep a close eye on her just in case this is an infection rather than a season.  If you have any concerns talk with your vet especially as you are going to spay her soon.  Is she twelve months old yet.  Sorry I have been out of the picture with puppies for some time and need to catch up a bit.

she is 13 months old and her last season was when she was 9 months.

How amy weeks since the first day of the last one to first day of this.  Anything over 4 months would be normal, and I have had several of my young bitches do this though eventually they go longer.

Its just under 4 months by the time she finished her last season and started this one, so I guess that 7 weeks after this one ends I should get her spayed.

You count the the way around Sarah -from the START of the last season. :) So it's probaby just over 4 months.

Both my bitches seem to have 4-5 month seasons ....can be quite a bugger , especially if you are showing ..my breed loses it's coat before a season *sigh*

If they areanything like mine with luck the gaps will get longer, how old are they now.

My lexi had 3 seasons at 4 monthly intervals and then went 6 1/2 months, and this time 23 weeks.

They all end up with about 27 week intervals, sometimes more.

Unfortunately I have had bitches go the other way, Brainless. They start out a decent time between them and end up at 17 weeks between. :( If I was lucky ;) So, 3 weeks season, 9 weeks phantom, several weeks of 'puppies' (pain in the proverbial) and a week or two in the show ring before starting all over again :D Now why don't I keep dogs instead? Ok, I have one male in the house just now, but don't normally :)
