We arrived minutes late for our minor puppy class so didn't get in after travelling for 4 hours. Still had a great day and met our other TT's future beau.

Glad you had a good time Sarah. We're not going, missed the entries!!!!!!! So nothing to brag except a weekend with no shows...again!!!!!

Haha same as us Rox we missed the entries for that show again! thats now 2 years runnig lol, nice relaxing weekend at college though! doing work of cause though :)

We had a nightmare show :( Our dog decided from the minute he got out of the car he'd dislike everything from the grass, to the judge to the other dogs!
We've not been showing long, other people we're telling me "it's his age" or "every dog has off days, don't worry about it" I just felt mortified
On No! Not someobody else who didnt have a good day!

lol sorry to hear you boy didnt go well, but like people it was prob just a one off and the next show he might be and angel! dougal has his off days, and so does lottie, when she not in the mood to do it, she totally not impressed!! Lol!

I hope he's an angel in his next show as it's tomorrow

Didn't do so good either, but had a great time :D

It was my first champ show and i got VHC in Open Bitch. Hungarian Vizsla. I just wasn't expecting anything so i am really happy. Sorry to hear about others upsets. Hey there is always next time
:D
Anna
Well done anna!! and well done to the dog! :D

Well - how did the nerves hold up? WELL DONE TO YOU ANNA AND YOUR BITCH - FANTASTIC RESULT FOR A FIRST SHOW!
:)

I was nervous all day up till the point when I actually got into the ring. Then I was just concentrating on not looking stupid in front of people who had been doing it for ages. She performed really well - much better than any of her ringcraft practise. I think she enjoyed the space and being outside.

blue got 2nd in yearling fcr
brie got 5th fcr
tangle 4th swd
gillie 2nd swd
not a bad day

I didn't got but one of my friends got Res. Best Bitch with her SWD :d ;d So pleased for her, she's only been to two shows I think this year and got Best Bitch and Res. Best Bitch.
Well done to the Bracco owner who won everything !!!

Little Tobey got a third in MPD so qualified for Crufts at his first Ch Show, lil Pepe got a 5th boo hoo, could have done better, but he did beat a coupole of other dogs! LOL
Ohh and forgot to enter Storm and she looks stunning right now!!!

I had a good day with two tailed schipperkes my gold boy got 2nd in limit dog so qualifying him for crufts and the little blacy puppy bitch first time out got 1st MPB and Best Bitch Puppy losing out on BPIB to a 9mth old dog puppy, very pleased with her results at only just 6mths and a tail!
Congrats to all who did well, I did see Linda with Casey and she's won the CC and BOB so Bellicose Headcase is out again after her litter great for linda.
Not a good day...1st champ show for my baby boy but judge goes upto him, to go over his head and puts finger into his eye to which he jumped back immediatly and then doesn't want judge to go over him, which I can't say I am suprised at! Several other pups were also backing away. I just hope it hasn't put him off showing now, although he seemed fine when we got out of the ring. He still got a place but you want their experiences to be positives ones......!!

Had a lovely day. My bitch only got short listed, but she got her JW a couple of weeks ago so the pressure was off for me. However her litter brother (I bred them) got 2nd -Junior Dog, Res- Yearling Dog and 2nd - UG Dog under Frank Kane and with his novice owner, I am so pleased and proud for them both. He is usually shown by his co-owner who is a Ch Show judge, but he couldn't go yesterday. At least it proves to her that she can do it herself. My only rant would be, why when people already have their JW do they enter in 3 classes when other people are looking for JW points. Since I got my JW I have only entered 1 class so that I leave the way clear for other people who may be chasing points. I just believe it is selfish to enter any more than is necessary, I mean what is there to prove.
Thats great well done!! And all the classes that he entered we big as well! well compared to wheatens! lol

Rox i have turned into a work boffin!!! cant belive it myself!
Fiona
My little boy got 3rd in puppy & j but only 3 in each class. The best bit of the day for me was him getting his KCGC Bronze award, not bad for an 11 month old elkhound.

Huge congrats to all who did well :-) It's lovely when it all goes good :-)
We got our first ever 1st! It was only our second class in Junior and Dillon beat some very lovely dogs who have been placed in front of us every time we have met in the last six months :-)
Sarah x

what a brilliant result Sarah ...well done you!!!!
Roni

firstly Alison congratulation on gaining your JW So glad you mentioned about entering more than 1 class if its to gain points I dont think its fair to other myself.
He is usually shown by his co-owner who is a Ch Show judge, but he couldn't go yesterday. At least it proves to her that she can do it herself. Aaahhhhh but this is Frank Kane you're talking about. One of the few judges who looks at the 2 legged end of the lead! So the dog obviously deserved his good wins. :D

:D Having not shown for long, i love hearing about the different judges "ways" :D
Although i didn't catch sight of him, he was judging a show i was at yesterday, i wish i'd of known this before i went as i would of made a point of watching and maybe having a little giggle :D

Sorry this should read
'Doesn't look at the 2 legged end of the lead'....
Crikey, I hold Frank Kane up as one of the most honest judges going.

:D :D :D @ Christine!

:D :D Hee, hee aww i thought i was getting some gossip then :D :D

I thought there needed to be a certain number of entries in a class for the winner to get the JW points? By entering when you don't need the points surely people are making it more likely that the win counts?

Ditto J/G. When I got Mia's JW back in 2001, it was when you were required to have a minimum of 10 open show points and a max of 15 at championship shows. She won the championship show ones with ease and I lost track on how many she ended up there but at open show she won 14 points. I wasn't pulling her out after all I had to put up with from those who pulled their dogs & lowered the entry to stop her getting her JW faster.

I know what you are saying there are some really nasty people out there. However I am talking Ch Shows and lets face it Goldens get good enough entries to be able to get your JW points in Ch show classes. Also by entering 3 classes this person knocked himself out of the Challenge. BTW thanks everyone for the nice comments. Congrats to all who did well and commisserations to those who didn't.

Had a lovely day meeting people not seen for a while but unfortunately my puppy was the wrong colour for the judge - who was totally colour blind. But she behaved wonderfully for me at her first show so was very pleased.
Had a terrible day. Got stuck in the traffic ( kind of my fault, left an hour late), then slipped on the wet grass whilst running the dog. Judge wouldn't let me run again.
Then on my way out. Standing talking to a friend, both dogs standing there behaving and well away from any ringside and a very rude GD exhibitor yelled at us that we were distracting her dog in the ring, NOT. After a few choice words back. Left and spent a lovely afternoon running the dogs.
I had a sense yesterday would be a disaster. After a nice run of success comes the downhill and the loop the loop before getting up there again :)
WELL DONE to Missie though, qualifying Molly for Crufts in the Leonbergers (and Leomad)

Hold it, hold it, WOAH

I've only just managed to get myself suitable awake so listen up!
I had a *spectacular first* at Birmingham - first time my bitch has ever been
unplaced - beat that kids :D :D :D It was sort of like playing the lottery except more expensive cause you have to travel to watch the draw live and they brought out the wrong machine :D :D :D
Congratulations to anyone who had success - we still had a brill weekend (somewhat extended :P ) so can't complain.
Teri :)

So pleased that it wasnt only us that didnt have a good day at Birmingham. Having taken a year out of showing this was only Ruby's second show in a year but I was so pleased at how she looked, stood and moved and I was disappointed to get VHC as there were only 5 of us. Usually I dont mind the placings but I thought she had done so well I was really suprised to be last. Oh well, Southern Counties in a couple of weeks so better luck next time!! Sam.
>phew! I can offload these Spinones now :D ;)
Lol yay! :D My spinoni! :D Thanks HG ;) :D Hehe! Im sure they will fit in well around here! Think i may have to call one olivier though ;) Lol!
