Hello everyone, I am after some advice/help - do any of you have an electric built in double oven that you would recommend?  My oven, age 12, is dying and i cannot find any user reviews on the sort of oven i need and was hoping you lot could help.  Have trawled round the Currys and Comets but they have such limited stock and limited knowledge i was told to look on the internet!!::rolleyes:

I need dark brown as well so that is making it even harder:rolleyes:

Any help gratefully received.

I've got a Bosch - it's very good. You can take the doors off, so makes cleaning it easier :) Oops- just seen that you want brown :( mine's stainless steel :D

Brown isn't as popular now as it was a few years ago for appliances so your choice might be limited.

Neff is an excellent brand, a bit pricey but well worth the extra, IMO. They do seem to have what you're loooking for
here for example.

I also found this AEG one too which is a bit cheaper.

I also looked at the AEG one coz i know they are a good make but the oven has no self-clean function (very important)  I would also like one that does the shopping, chooses whats for tea and then cooks it to perfection, but then that's probably hoping for too much

Stainless steel is supposedly going out of fashion because its hard to keep it looking good from the outside, but it really would look out of place in my kitchen anyway.  I must be so out of date here!!!

AEG and Electrolux are the same people apparently so maybe if you have one of these you could add your comments: In the meantime i will check out the link to Neff,

I have an AEG - nearly 5 years, no probs and I'm very happy with it. It is stainless (fashion or non-fashion !) I don't care. I've had no probs keeping the outside clean and the glass in the doors slides out to make cleaning them really easy.

I find the stainless very easy to clean too - a quick wipe over and then a polish with a micro-fibre cloth :)

I just wash/wipe any mucky bits off mine and give it a wee wipe with a cotton wool pad with baby oil on and it comes up looking new and smelling lovely.

Have just been through this, so heres what I learnt.

Bosch, Neff and Siemens are all the same group and generally believed to be reliable. Miele are top of the range, but pricey. Probably best to avoid anything from Italy -  Electrolux group as quality not thought to be as good as Germans.

if you go onto the internet appliance companies you will be able to carry out an online seach, I have recently bought from this company http://www.appliance-world.co.uk/  and can say they do exist!

It was the man in Currys who seemed to think stainless steel had had its day - but as i said before they strike me as being clueless unless you want a 3 grand plasma tv (comission i suppose!)  I would love a Miele anything - washer, dryer, oven whatever but the budget doesn't quite stretch that far and some of the Neff stuff is just as pricey.

Trade-appliances dot whatever have good prices too but the customer reviews are not too favourable, might give that appliance world place a click!

Have you looked at http://www.stoves.co.uk website? they are an excellent make and do various colours. I have recently brought a stoves  gas double oven built under as these were the only ones to make what i wanted. I found the product i wanted then googled the product code and found comparison sites all selling the same oven. i went for the cheepest supplier knowing that i was getting the exact oven i needed and i saved nearly £150 doing this. Did the same with the washing machine and saved £80 on rrp prices. As for stainless steel - its still in its the new white
