OK, any recommendations for a good stain remover? My 2yo daughter has so many t-shirts that I now have to class as 'at home' or 'playgroup' only as they are stained to high heaven that really she needs a separate wardrobe just to house them!
I've just tried using Vanish Oxy Action Max (for pre-soak and in-wash) and although some of the stains are gone, the more stubborn (recent and old) are still persisting.
Help anyone??????

Have you tried the little bottles of 'Stain Devils' they do a different one for different types of stains but I use the one for Ball point pen/make up etc on everything and it does the trick. Have even used it on silk and all came out ok.
Failing that you could always do my OH's favourite trick which is to leave one of his socks in the washer so that my whites come out pink..grey...pale blue....

But seriously maybe dying them another colour might help?
good luck :D

Funny - I just bought one of them yesterday as was all Oxy'd out on two tops that I managed to get cooking oil on  (and I wasn't even cooking :D ) They are currently in my tumble dryer and hopefully will come out stain free! If not, I'll send them to you to do for me (not very good with instructions  ) and I'll trade you language lessons in return :P
I think you need to catch the stains asap, but for me the Vanish spray, sparyed on before washing has saved many an item for me :D

I find neat daz liquid left on the stain for a while before washing gets satins out.

Hi, in many cases it's always best to check BEFORE you tumble dry anything...I've found that once something has been dryed, it's the devils own job to get it out!!! With oil splash I always put a dab of fairy liquid on it before washing and this disolves it....with Oxy action, sometimes just one wash aint enough!!! Stain devils as mentioned are also very good...good luck!!! All the best, Dawn

I understand a dab of fairy liquid on the stain before clothes get put in washing machine works best of all.
Slightly off topic here, but don't they use Fairy Liquid to remove the oil from sea birds caught in oil slicks

Yes they do use it, a very useful detergent. We do get that happen in these parts.
Thanks all for the great suggestions. Tomorrow I'll get a selection of items and try one of the suggestions on each of them - it can be my very own experiment to see what works best :-)
Look out cleaning product department of Morrisons, here I come........!!!

Just tried mine - dry now - oil stains still there
I use a spray stain remover from Tesco, works a treat
For years now I have used the 'Shout' prewash spray and find it works on almost everything. With 3 boys it has certainly been put to the test too.

Hi,
Great general stain remover.Whizz Oxi you will find it in your local pound shop. Ive used it on oil stains( pre soak ) general washing 1 scoop per load, mix whith water for carpets. even use it in the loo and on my own hand to get rid of ingrained oil when helping son rebuilding one of his engines. Multi use i would'nt be without it. ( don't but the expensive ones from the supermarket this works just as well ).
P.S. It works on baby poo as well.
Best wishes
