Topic Dog Boards / General / puppy chewing woodchip!

Hi,
Our 8 week old welsh springer is loving the garden, but especially loves digging and playing in our 'barked' area. (No pun intended ) Every now and then he chews on a piece of the wood, and I take it out of his mouth.  The pieces of wood are soft and about 3cm square.  Should I keep him out of the play area... or is it ok for him to chew the odd piece?  Many thanks, 3 sleepless nights and counting...

I am not sure what others would think, but my goldie chews on the stem of our old ukka plant and we have had no probs it's been outside about a year. Some may say he would get splinters but like you have said it's really soft and has done no damage.

make sure it isnt treated wood as chemicals may cause some harm even if the wod didnt!
