Hi
My GSD dog has for some reason started to pee in my daughters bedroom. I have no idea why and would like to stop him
Any suggestions
I think he is leaving his mark rather than getting caught short. Her room is a loft conversion and doesnt have a door up to it. At a push we fix a stair gate but I know my daughter will forget to close it so I would rather stop him of the habit. He is a 4yr healthy neutard male

I would imagine he is carrying on peeing there as he has now got his smell in the room .
the only way to stop him I would think is to keep him out! ....sorry!

Hi
I know he will carrying on doing it but why did he start in the first place?
Is there anything I can spray on the spot that would put him of. I am tempted to tie a knot in his willy and have told him if I catch him doing it I will. Thing is we never hear him go up there so no idea when he is doing it.
Another reason someone gave me was my daughter has just reached puberty( last month) and wondered if there was a connection? She would die if I was telling every one this so hush you havnt heard it from me.

It's interesting because my cat peed on my bed (many years ago) but both times I was pregnant. It was out of character and only time ever any accidents in the house in all her life. Cats just dont really, do they?

of all the mysterious motives in the doggy brain, arbitrary widdling on the bed by otherwise 100% housetrained dogs seems to be the most difficult to define! we've had it twice on two widely separate occasions and it had nothing to do with the dog's puberty, anyone else's the menopause (i blame most irrationalities on that ;) ), or any change in surroundings including unfamiliar or just nice freshly washed bedclothes. he's still allowed to have a snooze on both the widdled on beds when humans aren't in them and although i kept a very suspicious watch for a while, there have been no further incidents. not that there won't be, of course now that i've tempted fate.
lumphy, I was about to ask about your daughter's ... erm... well 'state of affairs' :D He could be reacting to her change. After all, there is a new scent in the house, isn't there ;)
I would also have him checked out, just in case he has an infection (not expecting that though :) )
