Hi everyone

How did everyone do at the above show? No-one seems to have mentioned it. I'm sure that you all loved the wonderful rings and the lovely weather.

Took my SWD's and one a first and a second. My friend won a second and reserve best import bitch with her 12 month old.

My hound's ring was squelchy mud under a open sided tent.
Judge was prepared wearing wellies - I wasn't / I wore white
shoes.
Not a very good day - would have prefered the upper area that was
dry under foot.

Hi Pam, I was there on Saturday with Rough Collies in Ring 5. After a 3 hour drive, it took 45 minutes to get through Builth Wells town and be disinfected! It was pouring with rain and our ring was so far away from our bench that I asked a sympathetic man to carry my clean bitch. In the ring the grass hadn't been cut and was about 6 inches long and was water-logged at one end. Our judge wore a beautiful cream suit with matching shoes! By the time I went into the ring for Limit Bitch, I had been up to my ankles in water and mud, but I was smart above the ankles, if a little mud splattered to the thigh! I met a lady who had taken one of my puppies to their first champ show and I tried to convince her that it wasn't always like this! I'm not complaining though - I had a good day - hope you did too.

I sent my exhibit with a friend, as I was home waiting for my overdue bitch to show signs of whelping (in the end we had a C section Monday, with 4 babbies), she was handled by the owner of her sire and won her 4th CC and also Best of Breed. she is my first champion after nearly 10 years in the breed.

Congratulations on making up a champion.
Hope the pups are doing well.
I've not made one up - been in Pharaohs 21 years

Lost one of the little ones, she just gave up sucking :( tried to supplement, but wouldn't take it. she had seemed a bit inefficient friday, so kept plugging her on at every opportunity, but she just got weaker, the other 3 seem fine for now, fingers crossed! The C section cost over £400, is that an average price, this was in Bristol.

Elkhounds!!! they really are the only ones for me, suit my personality perfectly, love their food, lazy at home and energetic when out, Bloody minded, sociable, get on well with others, prefer to be in your good books, but will try to get away with what they can!! Need to watch their weight in middle years (my dogs are trim, but I am not, lol)

I daresay you know a local Elkhound lady -
Julie Hibbert / Southampton
I've known her some years
