Hi
My 9mth ETB has started to get a bit picky when it comes to feeding. She used to have dry food as a smaller pup with no problem. Since her first season has finished she turns her nose up to dry food and dried food mixed with tinned. If I mix the dry with a can of tuna or some tinned smelly hotdogs she loves it.Even grated cheese on the top does the trick. I know the hotdogs aren't too good for her, perhaps the cheese a little fatten (?) but will the tuna do any harm? Any other suggestions please.
Thanks

Human's were advised not to consume too much tuna because of the mercury content but I understand from the Food Standards Agency Website now that the just recommend limiting Shark, Marlin and Swordfish.
Personally I don't add anything because every meal they would like something a little different on the menu ;) but if you must I would stick to fish or lean meat or the occasional egg rather than hotdogs or cheese which, as you say, are high in fats.

I have just been through the same thing with my pup following her first season. I tried not to go down the route of adding little bits to tempt her as I didn't want to encourage her to be picky. However, when she went on all-out hunger strike, I had to give little bits to tempt her. I am happy to report that she is showing a little more interes in her food this week and has eaten at least one meal every day for the last 4 days....progress indeed. She still looks like a hairy toast rack, though :(

Thanks...
I think Molly has indeed lost weight herself, her harness is looking a bit loose lately, that's what started to concern me a little. I know I shouldn't give in to her whims of fancy, but to see her just walk away from her dish every time is horrible. I'll give the white fish a go...I know dogs like liver, but excuse my ignorance, do they have it raw or cooked?

My dogs are raw fed so they have their liver raw. However, I'm sure cooked would be fine too if you're more comfortable with it that way :) Because mine are raw fed, I struggled to find tempting bits to put in her meals as eggs, fish etc are all routine in their diet. I resorted to breaking up slices of toast which worked to some extent. In the end, I offered her kibble and she ate it for a while, stopped eating at all for nearly a week  and then started showing interest in the kibble again. Strange dog! She isn't eating anywhere near the recommended amount of food for a dog of her size but I'm just happy she's eating again. My other dog is a waste disposal unit on legs

Hi

I feed raw to my two but they wont touch raw liver I have to cook it slightly. Must be the texture of it.Same with Kidneys,

I found that adding some canned, smelly dog food into the dried food and really mixing it up worked fantasticlly. She loved it! We then stated adding less of that with each mel and shes now happily back on ordinary dry food,.
