Hi,

We have purchased a new lab puppy bitch for showing.
I picked her at 7 weeks and she looked lovely. I picked her up at 9 weeks and all was fine. She has settled great and is a super puppy. But I have noticed she is turning her feet out a bit when she is standing. She has large paws but she is turning them out a bit.
The breeder has told me not too worry and she will grow into her feet. She said it will correct itself and it will be ok by the time my puppy is six months.
So I just wanted any other thoughts on this matter, I do not have a lot of experience on this.

Thanks.
Meredith

I think this is fairly normal in pups development - they go through so many stages during growth.  It can be a nightmare can't it really ;) - bum high, legs too long, feet turning out, slightly cow hocked! - it all comes together eventually - patience is the key!! :)

I have to be honest I'm certainly not an expert - I'm sure someone else will be along to confirm/disagree!!

It isnt something to worry about at this age, pups go through all sorts of horrid phases - but dont let your pup get too fat, it is probably the weight of the front causing the feet to go out and pasterns weak/growing - all of which is normal, but allowing them to get too heavy will not help - and not thin either!!
