A friends cat has given birth to 4 kittens in the early hours friday/saturday. My friend has asked if it's normal for the cat to bleed from the vagina for long . Any one know how long they will continue to bleed. Dont know the cats history, she is young but seems to be doing well ; eating and using her litter tray ok. Any info would be appreciated.

If I remember correctly my friends cat bled a little after giving birth, just keep an eye on the color and how much. If concerned give the vet a ring, Iam sure they would be able to tell you over the phone.

It's normal for them to bleed for up to a week. Anything else you friend needs to know just ask away, I've been breeding cats for 17 years. :)
