Hello everyone
I live in Mallorca and love cockers ,a lot of people know this and from timr to time I am asked to help rehome an unwanted one .
Usually they are young dogs and I rehome them fairly easily ,sometimes on the mainland .
Ihave been asked to rehome a 3 1/2 y bitch but I cannot seem to find anyone .The owner is 75 and had an accident so is now unable to care for her dog.
I have 2 girls and 2 boys , I am cosidering taking her on but worry about my gang accepting her , they will accept puppies but do you think the bitches will fight ,1is 6y + the other 1y old .
any opinions greatfully recieved

There will always be individuals but generally cockers get along very well in mixed bunches in my experience.  How difficult would it be if you took her to see but had to keep them seperate until another home turned up if it didn't work out?

I was worried that she would he confused if she went to more than 1 new home .

(I was worried that she would he confused if she went to more than 1 new home .)

If the owner is unable to care for the dog then in this case I would not worry about that, it is better than her going to a rescue and she will settle either with yourself or if not at her new home, she is still a young bitch so will adapt well to change.

As Isabel has said, Cockers usually are great at being in a pack, occassionally you can get a bossy alpha bitch, my mother has 4 bitches and they all get along extremely well so this may not be a problem for you at all.

It is best to keep your options open, I would take her in and see what you think a few weeks down the line, if she is not the dog for you then just find her another loving permanent home, it will all be in her best interest.
