We did another companion obedience show today, not too good in the lowest class, only 14th out of 23, but we miraculously came 5th out of 26 in the middle level class - our first obedience place!! Still losing places for wide working but (a) 17 months of breed followed by 3 weeks of obedience is bound to mean she works at breed distance, and (b) a Cavalier can't work as close as a Collie anyway! I'm so proud of her. We also got 3rd in breed and 2nd in Best Condition, so we've had a great day! :-)

Well done to you again Lucy - I think you are both doing v. v. well! And as long as you both enjoy it - that's the main thing.
:-D

Well done you two :D
The last Novice classed I judged was won by a mini long dachshund ;) so it can be done :D I found out later that a friend of mine who judged the World Cup Obedience at Crufts this year had also judged him & he won her class(pre Beginners)as well . A Pap won a beginners class at Ripon last monday
I'll expect to see you at UK toydog next year LOLOL where you will probably beat me ;) I'll need velcro to keep JD in once place for his stays :D

Well done Lucy, sounds like your Obedience is coming along very well.
You put me to shame I have done an obedience class for ages, I'm off to a Companion Show tomorrow maybe I'll enter Bert he might surprise me!

Are you going to the companion show that we went to do our Gold Good Citizens? I should be able to make it so I'll look out for you. :)
Take care

Well done!!! :D

Well done! Was this the stotfold show?

Did anyone come to our York Obedience show last Sunday, day before Ripon?
I was one of the 'biddys' on the tombola, and then doing some stay stewarding.
Come on and say hello to me :)

Hi Icequeen, yes that's the one! I forgot you'd been at the last Hitchin show, should have asked if you were going!! Are you doing the Shuttleworth college show next Sunday? She did look a little odd in a line up composed of 3 BCs, a terrier/collie cross (at a guess) and some sort of Lab / Lab cross! :-D
MM I would have entered at UK Toydog this year just for a laugh only I was on a plane halfway to Turkey! Next year it's a definite!! :-D

I wasn't there again! Was at work however Parents went with two of the dogs. Didn't do to bad.
Bet that was a funny line up.... My Dad once took one of our red and whites into obedience at an australian shepherd funday and she got 3rd, was only non aussie in line-up! :D
Lets hope you just keep getting better results in obedience.... Not going to shuttleworth, Guess who's working....again!!!! :D
You go girl!!! :) :) Well done

Thanks all! Did another show today, very high standards for a companion show I thought, even the lowest class demanded off lead heelwork, recall, and a retrieve. Ellie doesn't really do retrieve yet, but somehow we still scraped a 5th place in the middle class by not losing too badly on the other things we had to do. I was particularly proud in her sit stay when the dog next to her lay down, and instead of just leaving it like you should, its owner went halfway back and gave it a strong verbal and hand signal to sit up again! She also had a go at a fun agility course which she did really well. :-)
