Good morning, could anyone please give me some help me with this one. My year old Rottweiler, who normally is very good although quite boisterous, has suddenly decided that she's ignoring everyone even to the point that she doesn't even look at you when you call her name. That has progressed to when she has something she knows full well she shouldn't have she just tazzes around the garden like a demon and no matter what treats we try and tempt her with (cheese, liver, her favourite biscuits) she ignores us. My partner is starting to lose patience with her because she just won't do anything she's asked to do so my request is twofold really, firstly does anyone have any idea why she's playing up like this and secondly does can anyone recommend a "one to one trainer" in the Norwich area because we are desperate for some help on this one, she certainly is not a pleasant puppy to have around at the moment. Any help please would be most grateful.

Ah, the joys of a teenager! This is an absolutely normal stage of development, and they
do come out the other side, just as human children go through adolescence and develop into (usually!) sensible adults.
As for one-to-one trainers, the
APDT should be able to help you. Good luck.
Hi - I'm not sure you "need" a one-to-one trainer - why not just take her to weekly training classes using positive reinforcement? The link above should help you with finding those too. You need to develop a bond with her so that she thinks you are the centre of her world and not some irrelevant part of it. The best way to do this is with training, but not any specific quick-fix training, but with ongoing classes.

That's a great stage! I love it when it happend to other people! :D lol! Sometimes they even swear at you in 'doggie' and back chat you..well my last dog did.
Keep going as you are... a kind but firm hand should see her through her teens. I am still working through this with one of mine and I have to treat him like I did when he was a little puppy..back on the lead, basic training, and lots of play. My last dog only tried it on for a few weeks and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I took him to my trainer and said he's acting like a teenager..and he took the lead and my dog acted the same even for him! Which was astonishing cos he was a great trainer! And he said..yep...you've got a teenager!
I have two teen dogs in my house and two teen kids... and one seemingly teen hubby! lol! ;)
